I see threads for movie and book quotes, but some of the best were in TV shows. Let 'em rip, comedies, dramas, SciFi, westerns, soaps, modern, classic, whatever.

Vila: "Don't you ever get tired of being right?"
Avon: "No, I get tired of everyone else being wrong."
- Blake's 7

You could blow up this thread with quotes from this show, especially Al

One of my favorites

Peg-I want sex!
Al, So do I, Peg, but you don't see me bothering you."

Katie Sagal is still going strong

There are two kinds of folks who sit around thinking about how to kill people: psychopaths and mystery writers. I'm the kind that pays better. - Richard Castle

Annette Johnson: You just may go to Heaven whether you like it or not.
Dr. John Becker: Thanks. It's the first time someone suggested I go in that direction.

- Becker

It seems my faves come from cartoons.

"You knew the job was dangerous when you took it, Fred." - SuperChicken to his sidekick after sidekick got clobbered by something.

"Steal track, Commissioner! Steal track!" - George of George of the Jungle warning the head-of-state his train was about to derail.
"But George, that's what the train runs on!"
[crash]
"I try to tell you, Commissioner. Somebody steal track!"

Anything from the "Acme Corporation." - Road Runner. Acme played a big role in starting my first serial on LitE.

And of course, there are Bugs Bunny's many laments about not turning left at Albuquerque. Trouble I have in looking back is my MC's were in Albuquerque in the second chapter of my road trip story, and I didn't use the line. 20/20 hindsight.

Lt. Castillo: "And Crockett--"
Crockett: "Yeah yeah, I know. [Imitates Castillo's voice] No heroics."
- Miami Vice

Holly: "Sartre said, 'Hell is other people.'"
Lister: "Yeah, but all his mates were French."
- Red Dwarf

Capt. Darling: "Thank God! We live through it! The Great War, 1914 to 1917!"
- Blackadder Goes Forth

"Watch your back, Rhymes with." Jack talking to Detective Luntz

"Nice hat"

"Number 4, knock at the door!"

All from Tin Star....I think the series was hilarious

  • Ria Torres: "What am I supposed to believe about you?"
  • Cal Lightman: (shrugging) "You can believe whatever you want. It's what everybody else does."
Lie To Me

Tony Soprano: "Where the fuck you been?"
Chris: "The highway was jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive."

"You are depriving some village of their idiot!" Klaus

"I'd ask what you're doing Klaus, but then it occurred to me that I don't care." Five

Umbrella Academy

More Blackadder:

Capt. Blackadder: "I on the other hand am a fully rounded human being, with a degree from the University of Life, a diploma from the School of Hard Knocks, and three gold stars from the Kindergarten of Getting the Shit Kicked Out of Me."

Nurse: "You almost *were* a boy, my little cherry pip."
Queenie: "What?"
Nurse: "Yes! Out you popped, out of your mummy's tumkin, and everyone shouted, 'It's a boy, it's a boy!' Then someone said, 'But he hasn't got a winkle.' And then I said, 'A boy without a winkle? God be praised, it's a miracle! A boy without a winkle!' And then Sir Thomas More pointed out that a boy without a winkle is a girl. And everyone was really disappointed."

Lord Flashheart: "Bridesmaid! Love the beard, gives me something to hang on to. Woof!"
