Fake is Fake And I Hate Fake In All Forms

This may be heresy to you, but I actually preferred the first season of the HBO series to the movie. Yup Bryner was good in the movie (although not my favorite of his roles) but not enough to overcome having a whiny richard benjamin as the hero. And the movie lacked any women characters at all. I especially liked Thandiwe Newton in the series, but they had a number of interesting women characters. As I write this, I realized that one of my favorite side characters from my original series of stories (Lizzie) was almost certainly influenced by a female bandit in the series.

The second season was interesting, but not as good. The third season was awful. I don't even know if they made a fourth season.

The series is not at all like the movie.

It's much more thoughtful, and I prefer it. The cast is without exception superb.

Little clue, the two people to the left aren't James (my husband) and me. It's a stock picture. But it isn't fake, it just isn't us. And most of the time, when a vampire is staked, a man is shot, someone falls out of a window to a horrifying death, or a woman's throat is slit in a movie, CGI, dummies, stunt people, or practical effects, it is all fake. So are most of our stories; they didn't really happen to anyone. So the only recourse the OP has is not to read or watch anything that isn't the news. Oh, wait, that can be fake too.
