Day 10: Truck

Not a great deal of truck talk in Beatles songs, as it were, so we can debate what Paul is referencing when he mentions a fire engine in this song.

Fun fact, the trumpet was added after the song was finished. Paul couldn't write music, so he sang the trumpet part for George Martin who transposed it for a trumpeter to play.

Day 5: A song by a band you wish you had seen live while they were still alive/performing

I'm playing catch up. How weird is that. Fun fact: I did see Scott perform when he was in Velvet Revolver, and that was such a bizarre 'only in the 2000s' kind of moment. They played a couple STP songs there, but without the bass work just wasn't the same, so the songs didn't drive the way they do in a clip like this.

Day 6: A song with a great hook.

Still playing catch up. And such a subjective category, but a great excuse to go back into the archives of some of my favorite pop-leaning stuff. And look, did I pick this partly because this is maybe the hottest Britney looked in a video? Fine. Whatever. But the hook is pretty fucking good here.

I almost chose this. I'm so glad someone did!!

A Song That References An Airplane

Apologies for posting yet another Lightfoot song, but it is the only song I know that mentions a plane. I was born and grew up in Canada, have lived in Australia for many years, have also lived in France. I don’t feel at home anywhere, don’t feel I belong anywhere, but Canada would be the closest place to home. So, I do like Lightfoot. Most of his songs have a personal meaning for me, but not this one.
