The great uniter.....

One less alt? You have sixteen active screen names, dude! One less is a like drop in the bucket. By the way I never realized Wat was one of yours; I always assumed he was a separate guy. Maybe you WISH you were Wat Tyler- even though I find him pretty obnoxious in his own way.

Where do you come up with this stuff? :)

Canadian Provinces sell resources from fish to potash to trees to oil and hydro electricity internationally every day… there’s no requirement to ask Ottawa’s “permission.”

What a silly thing for you to suggest…. Too much Jordan Peterson!
"Let's make a deal, no tariff's"

You're smarter than that post.

That’s my point…It’s always been “let’s make a deal.”

If you want to think your President is winning, that’s fine.

Canada is used to the warm air that blows up from south of the border.

Not like before and that's MY point. Smith gets Trump AND Carney. Carney doesn't have a clue.

You ask Carney for a statement and you get 5 min. of word salad, ask a question but don't expect an answer.

And that's what has the lib's all freaked out re. Trump. They were all raised in single parent households headed by a woman. They want the government to be their Mommy.

"Now, now dear. If you keep behaving like that Mommies going to put you in 'time out." Whereas Trump be like, "You pull that shit again and I'm going to take you to the woodshed and beat your ass." And if you do it again he will take you to the woodshed.

AceRebelWat — 100% bluster and 0% facts. As always.

It’s still funny that you hate Canada simply because Donnie told you to. 😆

If you’re going to make fun of Canadian Politics, you should at least try to get some of it right.

Lol

Trump walks into walls and has to be pulled back by his buddies. You think he could find a woodshed even if he knew what one was? As to beatings, he wouldn't do that personally, just use some monetary trick to cause submission, more likely.

The difference between Fox News ("Faux" news in some quarters) and respected news outlets is simply this:

Other mainstream news outlets have integrity, an obligation for thorough investigation and a desire to tell the unfiltered truth.
Fox does not. They aer under no obligation to fact-check or even tell the truth, even after their claims are proven false. They are there to tell the viewers what they want to hear, regardless of truth. And they have been sued, and called out on this, multiple times.

Therefore no; Fox News cannot be trusted as a reliable news source.

Hope this helps.

Think of it like this. Say I witnessed your brother steal beer from your refrigerator. You think highly of your brother and don't want to believe he is a thief. So I say it was your neighbor, and claim it was a fact that your neighbor stole the beer. Then your wife sees your brother sneakily drinking your beer. And yet, I still cling to the story that it was the neighbor.

THIS is the kind of thing Fox News does to their viewers. No obligation to report facts, rather, they twist or outright invent facts to please their viewers. Again, I hope this explanation is helpful.
Works better is the neighbour is an illegal immigrant!

It seems the "European Plan" hasn't worked, and Mexico has said, "Nah, we'll pass."

For somebody that's supposed to know money he's apparently forgotten that bullshit walks because he doesn't have any leverage.

I'll revisit this for the readers of the thread.

I point out that Carney and his cabinet are fucking up by the numbers. From that you jump to the assertion that I "HATE" all of Canada.

I've had conversations with 4 year olds whose reasoning powers are superior to yours.

And the sky is falling! Lol

A few Facts to dilute your mania:

95% of Canadian Exports to the USA remain zero rated… Canada has the lowest overall tariff rate with the USA of any country.

The Can -Euro CETA free trade deal zero rates 98% of goods traded between Canada and the EU.

And the Can UK TCA zero rates about 98% of all goods traded between the two.

When i grocery shop in Westmount versus Laurel Canyon, the difference in international food choices is amazing.

Canada’s doing okay.

We don’t need to bluster and divert, as our PM is neither senile, demented, at death’s door, a criminal nor a molester.

I understand that, the tariffs aren't that big a deal except for some industries. I think the tariff on Aluminum is silly.

The only thing the Euro zone wants from you is the hydrocarbons and Carney et al don't want to furnish it. Not a US problem. <shrug>

Your PM is a financial wonk, he is not a competent leader.

Your opinions differ from the Facts.

“Here's a more detailed look at the volume of trade under CETA:

Overall Increase:

Trade in goods and services between the EU and Canada has increased by 31% since CETA's provisional application.

Goods Trade:

In 2024, the value of goods traded between the EU and Canada was €75.6 billion.

EU-Canada Trade Balance:

The EU had a positive trade balance with Canada of €20 billion in goods in 2024.

Canada's Trade Importance:

Canada is the EU's second-largest trading partner after the United States, and the EU is Canada's second-largest trading partner, according to policy.trade.ec.europa.eu.

Specific Sectors:

Trade is particularly strong in machinery, pharmaceuticals, agricultural produce, raw materials, and vehicles.

👆It would seem Lit's octogenarian obliviot is tacitly admitting he's been relegated to the kiddie table at family gatherings.

Honestly, it's been long overdue, he's been eating with his fingers for several years now.

From The Economic Times.

"On the other hand, exports to countries other than the US experienced a significant uptick, rising by 24.8 per cent, the second-largest monthly increase on record.

Notable increases included crude oil shipments to the Netherlands and Hong Kong, gold exports to Britain, and other items to Germany."

The same article goes on to state that overall exports are marginally down, 0.02%, and imports are down 1.5%

Also from same;

"Stephen Brown, deputy chief North America economist at Capital Economics, noted that while tariffs impacted trade, strong demand from other countries helped reduce the effects. However, he cautioned that "it is unlikely that exporters can continue to rely on other countries to offset weaker demand from the US."

I'm not in denial or delusional, for all the "happy days are here again" rhetoric coming out of Ottawa via the gov't paid for news organs. 0.02% is not a significant number.............yet. As pointed out Canada's other trading partners cannot be counted on to pick up the slack long term. The EU deal with the US should tell you exactly where Canada is on the pecking order as far as trade goes.
