Missing avatars

Is it only me, or do you also suddenly can't see the avatar of certain AH-ers? @SimonDoom, for example. I could see the eye like an hour ago but not anymore? And he isn't the only one.

I can't see Simon's eyeball either, and there are some posts in the Help forum complaining about avatars disappearing... it sounds like it might be a database glitch!

Simon is the only one I have noticed and it is loading the jpeg of his avatar as a white square (every one's loads as a square). I was expecting to see a load error in the browser.

I noticed that, too. What's going on? It's not nudity. And it's my eyeball, so there's no permission issue. I took the photo, so I have the copyright. @Laurel , mamma, what's going on?

Nope. Can't see his eye. But.... that eye was really over the top.... Probably violated some new rule...

I don't see an avatar for you. Did you have one? I'm one of those people that don't have visual imagery. That's why I don't remember if you had one. I made a verbal comment to myself about SimonDoom's eye.

No I never bothered creating one. They used to show the green circle the the I in it everywhere, but that only shows up some places now. I had kind of gotten used to that. I think about doing something for it, but it has never been a high enough priority.

If it happens to me I'll be sad cause I don't have my avatar picture saved on my PC anymore. And I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat, especially if you been here much longer than me.

Hopefully everyone who got whited out gets their avatars back, or at least has the photos saved somewhere. It's silly, but avatar picks for me are like a big part of someone's online identity. It melds into peoples personalities, and seeing them change is like seeing someone shapeshift. It's jarring and strange.
