The Isolated Blurt Thread XXXVII: You're Welcome, Fuckers

Disneyland is not always the happiest place on earth.
And then again…sometimes it is.

Examples: Watching your mischievous grandchild light up when they meet Elsa/Cinderella/Ariel, seeing your other grandchild taking a leap of faith to try rides you weren’t sure they were ready for (and hearing them say “It was terrifying but also so much fun!”), and finding that the ottoman is just the right height. 😉

I walked into the rain and forgot my rain gear. Maybe i was hoping it would stop.. Or maybe i was thinking it wasnt raining "that bad...", or maybe it was just Monday. Either way, 8 hours working soaking wet is beyond a good idea. I know better, yet i still did it. Sometimes im just an absolute moron. Anyway, it felt good to peel off that clothing and finally start to dry out. My boots did a great job! My feet were the only dry part of my body, until it started dripping in through my ankle holes.

Im getting too old for this nonsense. Only 14 years to go..

so nice to be able to actually work outdoors again without feeling like I'm about to die of heatstroke if I don't stay a prisoner inside.

had a good rain yesterday, and today I got around to returning the outdoor/roofed/windowed seating area near the henhouse back to its purpose. It had been co-opted as additional roosting space for the extra roosters when they were fighting too much. That led to a general tidying up of the potting/tool storage area ready for next spring, rehoming the tools that have been sojourning in the vegetable garden, and the taking down/storing of protective wire fencing from the spent beans. Then some weeding in the mini-peppers bed. Still more to do but tomorrow's fine.

Tomatoes continue to produce new flowers and green toms even as the others ripen; carrots are still trying to thicken up some; sweet potatoes... plenty of greenery but don't know what's happening underground. Bell peppers crisp and green just hanging out there, and elderberries alllllllllmost ready for picking.

¶ "Someday my prince will come"....

Ive had that snippet stuck in my head all fucking day! I woke up to it!
I have no idea why, or even the last time i heard it. Maybe when the girls were little? Maybe in a dream i dont remeber? I dont know, but i sang it all day at work. Yes, I got looks, but they all started humming too.

Maybe after writing this down, it will leave. Or maybe this is the beginning of the end for me. Either way, it'll be gone.

Edit: i have no idea what that symbol is at the beginning. Kinda looked like musical notation to me.
