I don't believe exhibitionism is a requirement for BDSM or submissiveness, but it is an element some people enjoy, crave or need.

I think it's important that if you get a thrill out of exposure /exhibitionism, that you consider the consent of the person to whom you are exposed.

I'm an exhibitionist at heart but I can't say it is a critical component for me.
