Not for a long time. Nor do I typically wish upon a star.QuestionnaireLet’s (high)lighten the mood! I love a good questionnaire, especially one that allows for some creativity. Below you will find 20 questions. Yes, 20. That’s a lot. You do not have to answer all 20. You can answer whichever ones you want to answer. We won’t judge.
- Do you make wishes on your birthday candles before blowing them out? Would you care to share what your last birthday wish was?
Call my wife to deal with it cause she doesn’t like when I squish them.
- You discover a spider in your kitchen. What do you do?
In the summer probably a gooey PB&J on a thick slab of white bread. In the winter I do love some butternut squash soup.
- What is your favorite comfort meal?
so many things. Everyone thinks they’re a better than average driver, lover and intellect. And really almost everyone is average at everything. And that’s okay
- What is something about which people have a misconception?
By the river
- Where do you feel the most at peace?
Director, Kogonada
- Finish this sentence. My favorite _____ is ______.
I don’t know. It’s sort of an issue at this juncture in my life tbh.
- What are you looking forward to?
We had otters on our dock last summer! I’m so sad I haven’t seen any this year!
- What was your last memorable encounter with something found in nature?
I’m very….superficial in my interests and hobbies. I don’t master things, I dabble.
- Hidden talents or hobbies? Something you are trying to master?
I don’t eat grilled cheese but I’ll have a PB&J with Albert Camus. PB smooth as the two of us would be.
- If you could make grilled cheese sandwiches with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? And what is your grilled cheese recipe?
I don’t take heroes as a rule. Even people with great ideas and/or who do good things are often deeply flawed.
- Who are your heroes or heroines, real or fictional?
And I’d never take a two dimensional representation as anything other than an idea I’d like to embrace. Most fictional chatacters I’m thinking of typically serve as counter examples anyway

In the short term….not really…I think we’re kinda in a bad place and it’s gonna take a lot of work and probable sacrifice from folks who don’t like sacrifice to make it better.
- Are you optimistic about the future?
In the long term? I mean..:the earths gonna keep spinning no matter what we do.
Grilled onions and peppers….yum yum yum
- What is a smell that stops you in your tracks?
Bonobo. Duh. No other answer makes a lick of sense.
- If you could come back as any organism, what would you come back as?
Nothing….
- What is something new you’ve done recently

Nothing that brings joy is insignificant. But the example that leaps immediately to mind is the thump of my dogs tail when I come in and she’s too tired or hot or lazy to get up but still so happy to have me around.
- What's a small, seemingly insignificant thing that brings you immense joy or comfort
I just took that leap last year.
- What's a goal or dream you've been hesitant to pursue? What's holding you back, and what's one small step you can take towards it?
So many educators throughout my life. I’ve connected with some of them over the last decade or so. But my 6th grade teacher passed away a while ago. He was OLD when he taught me.
- If you could write a letter of appreciation to someone who deeply impacted your life, who would it be and what would you say?
I did happen to randomly be in a D&D group 20 years ago with someone who was married to a teacher that taught with him his last year before he retired. She said he was admired and beloved his last year too. So that is nice.
Oh jeez…
- Describe a time when you experienced a deep connection or understanding with another person. What made that moment special?
- If your life had a theme song, what would it be and why?
