Israel knows it faces an existential threat from hostile neighbors. That's why service in the IDF is mandatory for young Israelis. That's why every Israeli house has mandatory safe rooms and bomb shelters. That's why Iron Dome was built. Israel knows that if they don't constantly stay on guard, they will be annihilated. We saw what happened on October 7th when Israel briefly let it's guard down--mass rape and slaughter. That's the Palestinian plan if Israel doesn't defend itself.
