The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I have one of those inversion tables, and I should probably use it more.

Ironically, working hard on the farm didn’t bother my back in the least, and I was lifting some logs to be split that were at least 70 to 80 pounds

It’s sitting in a fucking chair that is kicking my back’s ass.

Driving made mine act up, when that was a thing. PT woman told me to elevate my ass to straighten my legs and take to strain off. I did, and it worked. I still do to some extent.

Of course, the artificial hip made all the difference in the world.

Only my thoughts are inappropriate! Some people appreciate that gift 😜 You are one of those people, thankfully!! Like minds and all that shit!

Happy Sunday everyone! 🥰

Yeah, that's true. I pretty damned awful.

Some would say horrid.

Some are pussies and get what they get.

The rest of you get to laugh, so it all works out.

So I just bought a telescoping paint stick thingy.... (I am afraid to say pole wonderer... but wait thingy is probably not good either) .... I am not gonna worry about the ceiling remaining white. The color is am using is pale oak which is light light... or I will grab some white paint and paint the whole thing white so you can't tell the difference..

Put the shelves back up and get it dried out so that i can get stuff put away

Ok - I tried just replying as I worked my way through... as you can see that really lasted :ROFLMAO:

Caught up for the moment, so while I ponder what's for dinner here's my catch up responses so far...

Hit the 10K character limit again... here's Part 1
Wait what it’s Friday?

I'm usually a huge proponent of PT but, in your case, I think it's a good idea for you to pause it. PT shouldn't hurt that much.
I agree... you should get a healthy "burns so good" feeling but anything "ouch!" needs to be reassessed.
Glad you're working through this with doctor and PT 🫂
Been watching the smoke get thicker and thicker here. Air quality index is in the mid 300 again now...
Fire must be closer than the last one, it smells more like burning plastic than the last one. I know it's just forest fires, but smells bad this time through.
Numbers are worse today than yesterday.
Map looks like the entire middle region of Canada is on fire and the smoke is mainlining its way to the greater US Midwest region 😖😶‍🌫️😷💨🌫️🔥🔥🔥
I use the ac but hide until a summer down duvet, and then my meds work ok.
Clever hack!!
It was awful this morning! I missed something really important today because I couldn’t breath in it even with an n95 and carbon mask.
That year when Canada, all of Western US, and most of Australia was burning? I couldn't breathe in my place. Had to buy a 2nd HEPA Air Purifier.
I'm waiting with a 3rd one bought and ready... because that time will come. And my place is only @ 1,100 sq feet
I was so happy to throw away my hard contact lenses and my -13 glasses after my cataract surgery! It's still very cool to wake up and be able to see!
I am waiting for the day... I'm not a candidate for Lasik and by high school my correction far outstripped what radial keratotomy could correct. So cataract surgery it is... but unless you have obscured cataracts insurance won't kick in a penny... and it costs about 10x what Lasik does
Love the picture, H! 😍
Yes - those Morning Zen photos are fantastic, H!!!
Most people are OK with this in the short term but some aren't. It's always best to check with your HCP before using an inversion table.
true - I can't try it now that both knees have been replaced (according to my doctor, knee surgeon, and every PT I've asked)... but also, IDK how much benefit I would get since most of the compression in my back is in the upper half not lower 🤷‍♀️
You need to be using your time, girl!
at least enough to keep burnout at bay
after that cost-benefit analysis... if banking some means you can leave the job sooner? that's a win in my book!
Nail polish remover?
I feel like this should be spot-checked on a spot not in line-of-sight. that's a bit more caustic than rubbing alcohol, isn't it?
Bring in Wat as a consultant! 🤣🤣
I have "You can't handle the truth" running through my head but subbing in Wat for truth. 😂
Dying here! 🤣🤣🤣
same!! *wheezeGASPsnortgiggle*
I got traction only when their bonuses were affected.
Document EVERYTHING!
I just wanna stay employed!
same - there are certain things I just don't say anymore b/c management has made it abundantly clear they do not want to hear it again.
doesn't mean it's not still relevant or correct - but I like my paycheck... I need my paycheck
Guess it's going to be a hide inside day again today!
Until Canada stops burning, I think it's going to be a big game of Peek-A-Boo with that 🤬 smoke!!
be safe!

and... Part 2
I was chatting with my phone service woman at the store while waiting for my stuff to download, and she told me about her dad having her daughter on the skid steer with him. Kid was having a ball and so was dad, but mom got a bit freaked out by it all. I would have loved that as a kid.
reminds me of those "having fun with dad" videos on YouTube
The feelings comes and go close to the anniversary of her passing.
The interesting thing is it seems worse the third year!
...Emotions are so unpredictable.
Indeed they do... certain anniversaries hit differently, too
🫂 🫂 We're here whenever you need...
Good for trying to get them to talk about it. Healthy grief processing is learned and talking often helps a lot with that process.
Wat knows how to say charming things . . . .
Yes, but can he say them with a straight face? Or will it be more like a Carol Burnett skit?
Love that show!
Do you think my Avalanche has that? And is it a good thing or a bad thing? 🤔
IDK if it has it, but if it does the good/bad likely depends on what you're trying to do with it at the time 🤷‍♀️
I do not know. It is a good thing if you drive in snow or slippery conditions. It is not a bad thing and only engages (Sends power to both wheels) if one wheel starts spinning.
see - ask and all will be provided
People forget: a farm tractor will kill your dumb ass inside of three seconds under some bad conditions.
so many more things than farm tractors under that heading... hmm, sounds like a wicked good category for Jeopardy!
I'll take "Things that will kill your dumb ass in under 3 seconds" for $1,000, Alex. :ROFLMAO:
Wat has given some very motivating talks in the last week.
Of course, if they hadn't let it all turn to shit the week he was on vacation . . . .
Right? Vacation or rather returning from vacation shouldn't be a punishment
for you - fuck 'em if they fucked it all up while you were out
And of course there are the st000pids driving through the puddles in their shitboxes and hardly slow down.
still no fixin' st000pid... also
He can be good when he needs to be..... our wat doesn't suffer fools lightly though
nor should he... or any of us for that matter IMO
This Spooners is why any and all barroom medical advice should be run by our professional staff here at the 50+ All Night Greasy Spoon & Dive Bar! 🧑🏻‍⚕️⛑️🚑

For the record (and I should have mentioned this,) I use the tether that only lets you go 30 degrees. I don’t think I’ve ever gone full Batman mode inversion.
Does help remove the medical chaff before that conversation with your care team.
Good distinction with the # of degrees on the teeter. I was imagining the Full Batman Mode 😂
Thank you Lili!
...I think I’m going to have to talk to her doc about it. I doubt she’s mentioned it being a problem to her HCP or probably in passing telling them what she’s taking.
🤞 🫂 Good luck with the conversation and any next steps.
Just remember...shit flows down 😁

(This was my cleanest quick thinking on plumbing. I caught myself before I spoke... Yay me!)
We say this at work all the time... shit rolls downhill and our team is at the bottom of that hill
It’s sitting in a fucking chair that is kicking my back’s ass.
What's your posture like when you're moving without pain compared to when you're sitting? Maybe a different position or a different type of chair with support configured differently could help?
See? vvv
Besides aren't those fucking chairs more like a Cirque du Soleil contraption? Or a sling?? 😏
Driving made mine act up, when that was a thing. PT woman told me to elevate my ass to straighten my legs and take to strain off. I did, and it worked. I still do to some extent.

Of course, the artificial hip made all the difference in the world.
Yes to the new joint... but also, what a world of difference a slight alignment can make.
I found a solution for the paint on black hardware..... my face exfoliator pad... scrubbing on one side soft on the other. I have a 3 pack so one was sacrificed
now that's thinking outside the box!!
Same for the ceiling paint - glad you're not risking your neck!!
Sorry I haven't had/made time to respond to all you wonderful friends...
🫂 no sweat... we're here for you when you have the time. nice to see even a quick drop-in in the meantime
New sign:
The Main Thing

The Main Thing
The Main Thing
so very true!!

Good and busy day.

Also had some time for relaxing. Breakfast poolside.

Then it was off to work.
- mowed two properties we manage. Our neighbor there is a lovely lady whose lawnmower is busted, so we mowed and weed whacked hers too. It’s a small years so no big whoop.
- off to the garden shop where I decided to see if it was the chainsaw chain that was messed up. My cuts have not been straight, but I am also sharpening my chain myself, so maybe I’m not doing it properly. We’ll see!
- then to farm where we sold a shitload of wood over the last few weeks and I couldn’t be arsed to fill the bins back up - but finally did today. Split another 3/4 cord of wood, then stacked it.
- then home for more poolside relaxation, dinner and a little fun. 😏
- and then we heard our generator kick on… no power! Should be back up by 10:30

25k steps… but not all of them were “steps.” 😂
