Now we think of that or tell a young mother and they just gasp at what we did as kids. Or they don’t believe us. But im here to tell everyone ya were did these things as little kidsI think I was about 11 when I started raking hay with the old ford 8N or 9N. Then driving the loaded wagons of hay back to the barn. Had to keep your hand on the gear shift handle going down hill, one or the other would pop out of gear then. Getting pushed down hill at high speed with a full hay wagon was not something you wanted to do. I think the leased hay field was 3 miles from the farm, quite a drive along the gravel roads.
I’ve got a shotgun made in that year... my gpa was born in 1916
Those are Hibiscus... possibly "dinner plate" Hibiscus... they're beautiful, but have virtually zero scent. What are those?

My uncle was a huge baseball fan... his team? Cubsthank my grandpa for turning me into a baseball fan.
I have had some low back pain that was not responding to PT. My doctor thinks it may be the result of kidneys. You might want to check out all medical reasons.
The body is some trickyMy lower back pain on the right side, when I had it 10 year ago, was arthritis in my right hip. One new joint later and all is well.
We're here for you ... big, small, allI have been going through emotional swings as I come up on the third anniversary of my wife’s passing. I am making it thanks to all of you, my GF and my children and friends. Thank you!
I did have a plumbing issue to deal with after hours. I think we found some resolution.
But it’s time for an alignment meeting. Sadly the company culture is all nicely nicely and sometimes ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette.
Grief has no set timeline... it will mess up your calendar faster than you can say, "What day is it?"My wife still gets this around the anniversary timeframe of her husbands passing too.
Love me some made up words!!My dad made that up, to the best of my knowledge.
Order Up!!I'm overdue a Waffle House All-Star . . . .
Maybe... was this guy? Was he your dad, @Wonderer67 ??A friend (RIP) told me of a customer who came into the hardware store looking for ice melter so he could get some gription on his tires.

Oooh, everyone else got the muddy end of the stick on that job. Lucky you!! Long legs come in handyI started driving and Allis Chalmers when I was 8. All I did was pull a wagon while evryone else thru bales up on the wagon and stacked them.
Reminds me of the time...Super C. I find it amazing that many of us survived those years. Yup 8 was about right we could sort of reach the peddles if we slid slightly off the seat lol
I am so very sad for your loss. The little dirt mound is where we just buried Her husband and my lifelong best friend.... tough day on the mountain.

What is... the definition of an Oxymoron for $400, Alex?Lamborghini tractor
Don't they teach that in the military? Eat when you can, sleep when you can? Or do the leaders just say that and it's up to the soldiers to figure it out on their own?Allot of us could use sleep therapy. I see kids just fall asleep wherever they are and go how do they do that? That should reserved for this group![]()
Same... wait... what's the topic again?I will say…at this point in my life, I just like being out there. If i get a bite…bonus.
Love that you can top off the tank that way!!My normal sleep is about 6 hours and I can function on that much. But when I get 7+, wow I have so much energy.
If I'm following... my doc recommends "sips of fluid" starting around dinnertime. Pretty much those "Toddler Bedtime Rules" around drinks of water before bed.I’d love that my kidneys don’t cooperate unless i take something which i don’t like to do
I can bait the hook and catch the fish but I can't pull the fish off the hook...grosses me out

worms, fish guts, flopping fish, and babyAnd you're a nurse? I'm pretty sure you've done things worse than removing a hook from a fish!![]()
Gotcha covered - see part 1For me it was poopy diapers with the kids. Hated that job! Give me a nice big deer to gut, and I'd be shoulder deep in that thing, no problem! Diapers, no way!

And a watched pot never boils
I have proven, scientifically, that this is not true.
Fingers crossed!
Simple: move to Denver. A watched pot boils quicker at high altitude.
And doesn't altitude mess up baking?
Oh totally messes it all up lol
I've been screwing around with a stove top technique....it's a bit tricky but the dense fudgy end is worth it.
New vote, for number one post taken out of context!

Very glad it came back under the "Spoilage Rule Limits"Fucking electricity
I'm torn...The dog ended up doing all sorts of gyrations and gymnastics in the air, and was NOT pleased with the maneuver...
Really? I'll lay 10:1 odds you've got something there... may take a bit of digging... but it's thereGotta dig for sheet metal, hopefully there's something around.
But... you could...Yeah.... but fish are not people.... and i am not causing people's death or making them eat worms

I love making tea from them. Very tart! But a few drops of honey or light maple syrup balances it out. Wicked stains though - ranks up there w/ the stain power ofThose are Hibiscus... possibly "dinner plate" Hibiscus... they're beautiful, but have virtually zero scent.
Sounds exhausting Rj... hope you both get some restorative sleep tonight...Hello everyone. I'm home now. What a long day...
I ended up letting my helper mow while I pulled weeds. We worked together in the yard for 3 hours! And completely filled the yard waste bin!I hope your lines are really straight. I may have to inspect.
Whooops! You missed a spot over there.

I was trying to catch up last night. I was so tired from yardwork on Thursday then my training session yesterday I fell asleep early! Now, I'm 9 pages back!Me too. I missed last night and today and are four pages behind.
I'm usually a huge proponent of PT but, in your case, I think it's a good idea for you to pause it. PT shouldn't hurt that much.Good morning Wat. I had my annual physical yesterday. More testing to determine cause of lower back pain on the right side of my back. I am stopping PT until we know more.
Getting older is not fun. Alone it’s even worse. Sorry that I am feeling sorry for myself. That’s not me.
I use the ac but hide until a summer down duvet, and then my meds work ok.Hello everyone. I'm home now. What a long day...
It was uncomfortably hot all day which makes wifey miserable. We have AC but both of us have Arthritis and wifey has advanced scoliosis in her back. She's in constant pain and some of her medications aren't really effective with the AC on. Sometimes sleep is her only friend.
It was awful this morning! I missed something really important today because I couldn’t breath in it even with an n95 and carbon mask.Trying to wind down for the day.
Been watching the smoke get thicker and thicker here. Air quality index is in the mid 300 again now. Buttoned up the garage workshop, and turned off the air exchange in the house. Will try to keep it out as long as possible. Fire must be closer than the last one, it smells more like burning plastic than the last one. I know it's just forest fires, but smells bad this time through.
Goodnight everyone!
You will still be able to read. You may need readers as the muscles that control accommodation may get cut during the procedure.I have heard that can do wonders for your vision. Clear site and more vivid colors. I am going to be due for it soon but the Dr. said I can still read?
Love the picture, H!Corporate culture…ugh…five yrs till retirement, then I’m going to kick my cousin off our farm and homestead that piece of land or find something a little closer to home…my DiL is all in as is my youngest. I’m sick of the rat race, and it’s high time to get back to my roots…
It’s hot, I’m lazy, but the fish aren’t going to catch themselves. Momma is improving and slept well yesterday. The only fly in the ointment is company recurrent coming up next week. Gotta get my mind around sitting in classes all day…for 12 hrs…all week……for someone who’s not chained to a desk the rest of the year…
I think these pics are filtered, but who cares? They’re cool and sometimes it’s fun to see the artist bend light a bit. Desert MZ——

I wonder if this is what @Greylag's garage looks like?I got a kick out of this.
I had a great uncle that was married to my grandfather’s youngest sister. He had this old brown Dodge wagon who’s ass end was loaded to the gills with rods and reels!. I swear it looked just like this! I don’t know how he knew what he had in there, and there was no way in hell he was using all of it!
Then I look in my garage…

How was the test?Well I have 10 minutes to read over my notes.... so we will see... I just pray to God that people are quiet test takers. I am easil.....squirrel
As we age, we lose bone and other supportive structures. This is why people lose height. The loss of bone structure in the spinal column causes the pads between the vertebrae (discs) to squish out of place and puts pressure on the nerves that come off the spinal cord.I’ve dealt with back pain on and off for years…until I stumbled on an inversion table. It was by accident and they were treating me for another malady, but the traction table I was on helped with my back pain. Something about lengthening the spine or some magic our resident nurses could better explain!
Anyhow, I dropped the $ for the one that’s advertised on late night infomercials (TeeterLink) and yes I researched it and Mr Teeter wasn’t lying to you…he’s an engineer who came up with, at that time, the highest rated home inversion table on the market. Seems last I checked he’s been dethroned as King Inversion, but the price was right and it really helped.
It’s basically paid for itself by me not having to go to chiropractors and sports medicine places.
