The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Now we think of that or tell a young mother and they just gasp at what we did as kids. Or they don’t believe us. But im here to tell everyone ya were did these things as little kids😜 and we mostly survived. 😬

I was chatting with my phone service woman at the store while waiting for my stuff to download, and she told me about her dad having her daughter on the skid steer with him. Kid was having a ball and so was dad, but mom got a bit freaked out by it all. I would have loved that as a kid.

I'm usually a huge proponent of PT but, in your case, I think it's a good idea for you to pause it. PT shouldn't hurt that much.

I'm so sorry you're feeling alone. 🫂💜🫂
The feelings comes and go close to the anniversary of her passing. I know many on here understand. I am glad I can vent here as my children and her children just begin to cry if we talk about it. The interesting thing is it seems worse the third year! Any the swings in emotion are shorter and less intense and yet there.

This morning I have been feeling sleepy and upbeat. Emotions are so unpredictable.

Trying to wind down for the day.

Been watching the smoke get thicker and thicker here. Air quality index is in the mid 300 again now. Buttoned up the garage workshop, and turned off the air exchange in the house. Will try to keep it out as long as possible. Fire must be closer than the last one, it smells more like burning plastic than the last one. I know it's just forest fires, but smells bad this time through.

Goodnight everyone!
Stay safe!

My husband told me about driving farm equipment when he was around 8.

Not so bad for kids growing up on farms who have listened to the Big People talk about it.

Not so good for city kids going out to visit and thinking they can do anything because they saw it done.

People forget: a farm tractor will kill your dumb ass inside of three seconds under some bad conditions.

You will still be able to read. You may need readers as the muscles that control accommodation may get cut during the procedure.

I was so happy to throw away my hard contact lenses and my -13 glasses after my cataract surgery! It's still very cool to wake up and be able to see!
I have only heard good things about the results. Maybe I would stop getting messages from my phone that I am holding it too close!

It's still all kinds of soggy out there. It really rained its ass off. Wat was coming home during the worst of it and there was area flooding in low spots on the streets.

And of course there are the st000pids driving through the puddles in their shitboxes and hardly slow down. Electronic ignitions are harder to flood out, but still.

Glad to have been driving the truck.

The mind can do things to you. A roller coaster of sorts.

I am glad you’re feeling upbeat this morning.

As we age, we lose bone and other supportive structures. This is why people lose height. The loss of bone structure in the spinal column causes the pads between the vertebrae (discs) to squish out of place and puts pressure on the nerves that come off the spinal cord.

An inversion table can help with lengthening the spinal column, however, it can also be detrimental to some. Placing oneself in a head-down position can cause increased intracranial pressure due to blood and other fluids running into the brain. Most people are OK with this in the short term but some aren't. It's always best to check with your HCP before using an inversion table.

For the record (and I should have mentioned this,) I use the tether that only lets you go 30 degrees. I don’t think I’ve ever gone full Batman mode inversion. The 30d works just fine. Once you get the balance figured out you can just ease past the level point and I can feel the effects.

Well, didn’t get out yesterday but will try again today. Going to be hot but hopefully not too crowded where we’re going. Hope everyone’s having a great weekend! On to some Morning Z…

Ambien is good for short term use. I'm not at all sure it's a good sleep aid for the more geriatric population. Ask her PCP about Trazodone. It's an old drug that has few side effects for the elderly. Certainly fewer than Ambien.
Thank you Lili! Never heard of Trazodone. I went by yesterday and we talked a bit about her sleep habits/patterns and I mentioned the Valarian MissK mentioned yesterday. She admits she’s probably addicted to it, so I think I’m going to have to talk to her doc about it. I doubt she’s mentioned it being a problem to her HCP or probably in passing telling them what she’s taking.

I have one of those inversion tables, and I should probably use it more.

Ironically, working hard on the farm didn’t bother my back in the least, and I was lifting some logs to be split that were at least 70 to 80 pounds

It’s sitting in a fucking chair that is kicking my back’s ass.
