Nude Day 2025 Contest Thread

…Hmm, interesting. Anyone ever have the following happen?

I submitted a story (15 hours ago). 15 hours later (now), when I checked my Pending folder, it’s there with a time mark that says it was submitted 30 minutes ago. Appears as if the timer reset. No publish date has been set yet.

If I'm not mistaken, this sort of thing first appeared when the AI rejections began. So it could be that your story has passed through an AI check and is now queued for the standard review.

I had seen it happening only one. I submitted the chapter as, "Burn for Glory - Part One". It was renamed to "Burn for Glory - Pt. 01" and the submission time was reset. Maybe they edited something in your submission.

I can't say anything much regarding times...I uploaded the Duchesses story at 830pm UK time on Saturday evening and by 10pm it was published.

It predates the AI checks, but does seem to indicate something changed.

Thank you! I see it there. I was looking here: https://www.literotica.com/contests/
Where was that link hiding? Also for any next contest I'd want to stick my neck out for. LOL

“But the plans were on display…”
“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”
“That’s the display department.”
“With a flashlight.”
“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”
“So had the stairs.”
“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”
“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

Cuídate del hombre que traiga un jaguar.

It's tucked away at the top of the News section on the front page.

From what I've seen, the link has never been posted on the Categories page, where there remains the link to the April Fool's Contest stories. This is the sort of thing I complain about when I have a story in a contest, but I'm not in this one, so I regret that I haven't extended myself on behalf of you folks.

The link is posted there when the contest is over, I believe. Maybe things will change with the redesigned homepage.

@Manu With the redesigned homepage the link to the Nude Day Contest seems to have disappeared entirely from the News section.

Ugh, that was a tough one to squeeze in.

Unlike most events and contests, I didn't have a compelling idea in my back pocket that I'd really like to develop, at least not at first. The one that I kept juggling in my head had a pretty straightforward, if rather implausible premise of a nude Earth Day. I mean, it makes sense, right? The Earth Day is all about sustainability and reducing one's consumption of the planet's precious resources. What better way to demonstrate your commitment to the cause if not by forgoing some of the conveniences of modern civilization, such as clothes?... Eminently plausible, if I do say so myself ;)

While I wasn't too psyched about it -- it felt too simplistic / tropey / predictable -- I figured it might just work anyway. So I started writing.

I sketched the characters, the three college girls who are friends and roommates. I wrote a great opening scene, full of delightful banter. Then I proceeded to pants my way through the actual naked bender around the campus, and then... Well, I stopped. I just couldn't find a way to get to the ending I wanted, and in the process started to dislike the whole setup. It probably didn't help that I couldn't decide which one of the three would be the main character, which meant the narration became too distant for my taste or ran the risk of becoming head-hoppy.

In the end I threw in the towel, after something like 8k words and probably more than halfway through the intended plot. Maybe I'll try to salvage this thing for the next year; or maybe I'll just pluck out the characters (whom I've grown to like) and cast them in another story.

As a result, I was ready to pass on the whole contest entirely -- until, just a few days before deadline, I had the Muse bestow upon me this fluffy bunny:

It's very short by my standards, at less than 6k words, and I'm sure more than a few readers will dislike where it ends. But I like it this way, so off it went 😜

So, does everybody expect an upward or downward trend in views for the holiday weekend?

I searched multiple ways and didn't find one, so ....

Main Announcement here with dates and rules: https://www.literotica.com/s/nude-day-story-contest-2025-at-literotica

"The Literotica Annual National Nude Day Contest is the number three of six special annual Lit contests taking place in 2025. Unlike the monthly contests, the special contests challenge writers to create compelling, fun tales on a theme.

The theme is National Nude Day - celebrated on July 14th.

-- If you'd like to participate in this contest, please read this entire post. If you don't read the whole thing, you may miss out on important rules, rendering your story ineligible for the contest! --

You can begin submitting on (or before): June 14th
The last day to submit is: July 5th at 11:59pm EST
Winners will be announced on: July 12th

This contest will coexist with the usual monthly contest. A story may only win one or the other, not both contests simultaneously. The prizes for the top 3 stories will be the same as those awarded in the monthly contests: "
Finding the tag line is always a headache. Why not add it to the list of contests? :( Anyway, I just sent in a 5125 word story, Our Nude Day Open Door. Better Nate than lever.

Ah. The first few votes are always the best. That feeling of getting up there. You've got the <H> tag. And then.... the bombs drop and you go back to reality. Dang. Well, started strong. Next contest! Maybe just a new entry. I will strike gold someday. I will.....

Take your successes where you can find them... such as the fact that my entry in this contest is actually fairing a bit better than my 2 entries combined in the Valentine's Day contest.

Do you post in the same categories? I feel like Vday, Halloween and Christmas get a BIG turnout. Could be wrong.

I post my stories in E/V, LW, and R/NC, although one of my Valentine's Day entries was in EC. If I ever write a Halloween story, I might put it in EH category. But for the most part, I'll probably stick to one of the less controversial categories for any future entry.

Well, I'm coming in hot here after a family-induced hiatus.

Not the most creative use of the theme "A nude dinner" but it has the benefit of being done and submitted!

Hopefully I'll get to more writing in the next weeks and months

Mine's in Group Sex but could also fit under Fetish but the readership is not as wide there (maybe more forgiving? Not sure)

No, the link on the Categories page shows up while the contest is active, ideally when the first stories are posted. That's the way it's been in my six years here.
