Nude Day 2025 Contest Thread

Oh my gosh. I did it. I did it! I pushed through and got a Nude Day item in. I've never won. I don't know the trick. BUT--I got one in.

I think there might be quite a few of us that have never won a contest, but congrats on getting your entry in.

After two weeks and well over 100 votes, two of my last four votes have been 2's. Not 1's, 2's. I suspect someone is trying to subvert the sweeps, hoping they only look at 1's.

Don't worry about the score too much. It's more of a rite of passage for every author here.

My story made it to the top of ranking list today


That's the beacon for one bombers and here it is now after 4 more votes.

There is still a long time for results. You will see these things happening again and again.

Enjoy it while it lasts. I predict that before the end of the day it will have been bombed down to below 4.79. If you're lucky the bombs will be swept, but as soon as they do they reappear.

Someone on that top list is very precious about their position. Myself, I suspect the the writer who has a couple of dozen story chapters all ranked exactly the same from very similar vote numbers.

I don't have a story that's over 4.4 pretty much. *shrug* But, at least people are reading. I've learned that means a lot to me.

And in, The Peril of Sausages and Stripping should be released tomorrow. Really struggled as to the audience to aim for - very tongue in cheek, silly humour,a bit of Loving Wives ladled with some exhibitionism and voyeurism made it hard to decide. As I've never published in E&V, been dropped into that pool. Fun to write, started out as a bit of fun between myself and a fellow Literotician because I was wrapped up in some decorating with the Mrs. In the end, it turned into a full-blown story, ripe for Nude Day

My Spick and Span in that category stays resolutely at 4.78 whatever the vote...has done since vote 100.

Yup. If you have a couple of hundred votes before you get into the Hall of Fame, sometimes the bomber doesn't see. But otherwise the cut-off point is 4.79.

Overall I like the E&V people, but there's one out there who's a proper cunt.

Pretty sad behaviour IMHO, but i guess it's par for the course. Incidentaly I've clearly had a few subtle bombs on my contest entry, which may or may not get swept. Suddenly it's getting votes that are probably not 1s, but are low enough to have it trending downwards just enough to be out of the running. Oh well...

I don't want to see others hit, but it at least makes me feel better that it is not just me they are going after. My entry went from my top rated story to middle of the pack in 36 hours at a time in its lifecycle I expected its rating to be pretty stable. I would like to get recognition in the contest and had gotten hope of it, but much more I just want it to be treated better. That is the only story I have written that I am mostly happy with. It is not perfect, but I liked it.

A fixation on scoring or placing is almost never helpful. Just a friendly reminder, from a guy with A LOT of perspective on this sort of thing gathered over several years (not really a reminder for you, iwatchus; I know you've been around the block a bit. But just generally).

Write a good story. Publish it. That's the success. Everything else is just the vague whims of fate, aka Voting In Lit Contests.

I can't say for sure that it would have helped, but I thought it was an incredible story regardless! You have nothing to feel insecure for!
