Bunny's Stuffie Corner

I get so tired of not being able to upload pics from my phone on Lit because they're too big. It's more trouble than it's worth to go download them from my Google Photos onto my computer, then upload them here.

Anyway, I'm bitching about this because I wanted to show y'all my plants, but Lit is whining about the size of the photo.
Is there some way to shrink the photos on your phone?

I had to email my pictures to myself to upload them as avatars, but it never told me what the problem was so I just always assumed it was because of my crappy phone signal.

There probably is, but I'm not smart enough to figure it out. :p

I have to share mine to my Signal or Telegram app, click save, which compresses them to a size that easily uploads to Lit...

You're probably just braining somewhere else. Who has enough hours in the day to be good at everything?

I think, just Batman.

I think you're absolutely right.

I keep telling myself to download Telegram and just haven't yet. That's good to know!

I'm coming to eat with you. :p

Here are my plants on my front steps that I haven't killed yet. Basil plant, mint plant, and balloon flower. (I gave up and got the pic off Google Photos and uploaded it to Lit. Please overlook the fact that there's a literal tree growing in the flower bed. I'm not the one who handles the yard work here.)

Come eat!... Round 3 is ready!

Thank you! I'm actually shocked I haven't killed them yet. The flower, I've only had about a week, but I've had the herbs for about a month. :)
My herbs are doing horrible this year. Too wet. My mint is the exception because I can move the pot. The others are in raised beds. On a positive note, I have a volunteer dill plant in my wildflower bed.

Oh, yay, dill plant! I wanted cilantro, too, but they didn't have any. This is my first year having any kind of plants. :)

I'm sorry your herbs are not faring well. It has been really wet this summer. :(

I tried cilantro for several years. Then I spoke with the owner of a local nursery. She told me that it is a native to higher elevations, meaning cool temps. I've given up on growing it. I wish you luck with it.

We are growing dill, oregano, basil, rosemary, tarragon, and spearmint this year. We use the mint for cocktails, and its doing well. Yay!

Ah, I didn't realize that. I won't bother with it, then, as it's hotter than Satan's asshole here, lol.

Woot! I planned on doing mint for cocktails, too, but I haven't actually had one yet.

Our favorite cocktail using mint

Bourbon Smash
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) bourbon
1/4 lemon, sliced into 2 wedges
5 large mint leaves
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) maple syrup or simple syrup
Soda water, for serving
Crushed ice, for serving

Instructions
  1. Place the lemon wedges and mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Muddle 4 to 5 times to extract flavor.
  2. Add the bourbon and maple syrup and fill the shaker with ice. If desired, add a splash of soda water. Shake until cold and strain into a glass. Serve with crushed ice.

Thank you! Going to have to try this. :)

Not to be overly dramatic, but if I were dead, at least I wouldn't cost anybody any money anymore after the funeral.

Yeah, I'm in dire financial straits again. It's that time of month once more where Bunny's bills and her income don't even come close to lining up.

I hate myself for not being able to handle the busy company. If I could have stayed there and also kept my sanity, I wouldn't be having this problem right now.

While that eventuality may by correct, life is about more than money. As someone who has faced their possible end, I don't approve of this line of thought.

I know it is, but it's very hard to enjoy your life when you're constantly worrying that you can't pay your rent, especially when the only alternative is going back to live in a shithole town of 800 people with your narcissistic, elderly parents.

I'm sorry, I'm not snapping at you. I'm just upset and discouraged and exhausted and PMDD-ing. I'm sorry.

I feel your pain. I'm currently living in an old falling apart trailer with my SO, three children and a roommate because there are no other options. It's depressing, and sometimes hopeless, but all that can be done is to keep patching the holes and plodding on, because as long as there is life, there is still hope.

And hey, at least my hobby of raising chickens, and the roommates hobby vegetable gardens are paying off this year. Egg prices went to hell, and produce at the store is horrible. But the cost of chicken feed hasn't gone up, and there are watermelons and various vegetables in the yard.

Try to find the silver lining, look for that one or two things that are going well despite it all and hang onto that.

Thank you.

I do have some good things going on, this thread being one of them.

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling, too. I know we all have our burdens to bear, but that doesn't make them easier.

Not easier no, but having someone to lean on can make it more bearable.

Trying to keep my life together until that July 8th appointment with the psych nurse practitioner is...tough. Hoping for something that'll help this stupid depression. I don't like me when I'm like this.

Also, I have a headache today that originated from neck pain. Luckily, I have some muscle relaxers here, so I took one. (Also had some Aleve and some Tylenol earlier.) Plus, I've been been trying to do myofascial release (i.e., poking the knots in my neck til they loosen). I hope it's better when I get up tomorrow because this is just miserable.

I set a goal amount for every day I work and promptly didn't meet it today because of the neck/headache. Oh, well, tomorrow is another day.
