I’m not a germaphobe or nothing, but I really don’t like being sticky or damp.

Less so over time. I used to hold grudges like a motherfucker but, with some specific exceptions, it's never really done much but hurt me.
Now, there's a very valid self protection angle. Did someone hurt me/my family specifically and I need to remember that and avoid them? Valid. Am I actually angry with someone's conduct and I don't think I can forgive them so I keep interactions limited at best and maybe even not-happening? Also valid.

But I've held grudges more actively when it hasn't really done much for me. I'm learning that letting go is freeing. However, I cannot be a doormat.
Forgiveness is interesting. Who is it for? I'll forgive someone only if the person shows contrition. I'll otherwise likely decide how much I want this issue to impact my life and interactions with/around that person.

Yep. So timely.
It doesn’t add weight to my shoulders. I don’t forget things people have said or done. I don’t genuinely believe people change all THAT much (they’re still them, to their core, outside of a life altering change like a divorce or illness or victim of an unfortunate event). I don’t let grudges define me but they’re little reminders of what I think is right or wrong. Even if just in that moment, it’s a feeling I didn’t enjoy and the grudge is…protective.

And as the Queen herself says, 'I’ll forget you but I’ll never forgive’. I find most forgiveness to be about the person forgiving: I absolve myself of causing harm or pain because they’ve forgiven me. But the harmed person still feels it. That’s not a grudge. I don't think I hold grudges. Not in an obvious way anyway. I remember when people have said or done something to hurt me and while I can accept an apology and move on I will remember what happened to see if there are patterns to their behaviour.

I'm loyal as fuck to my friends and family. Hurt them and, while I can be friendly towards you, you'll always be on my shit list haha - even if they're able to move on and forgive.

I honestly have no clue if anyone has held a grudge towards me. I can think of one person that might but I'm not interested in doing anything about that.

On behalf of myself, I don’t have the mental bandwidth to hold grudges. I have too many other things going on to go back and poke a bruise over and over again. I do the other (probably unhealthy) version of not forgiving which is to just delete my files on someone that’s hurt me deeply and do my best to pretend they simply never existed. It’s easier and more freeing personally speaking than revisiting the past repeatedly. If you hurt one of the people I care about, I will probably never forget that in a way I could totally get over if it was an offense against me.

One way in which I am a total hypocrite is that I go out of my way to not pick up other people’s longstanding grudges (talking more about smaller issues than a true pain here). I often play devil’s advocate which generally annoys most people and play peacemaker. BUT I love it when my people hold a grudge on my behalf. It’s silly and petty and small but goddamnit something about that makes me feel really loved. Hey! No one’s perfect!

I do like to peace make but usually individually. I’m not bringing two wronged parties into a room to mediate. Usually, I do that “well did you think about it like this” or “did you ever consider that” or “you’re both kind of right and wrong actually”.

For me to get over something really hurtful, I think there needs to be a really clear apology that acknowledges the harm in a way that comes from their own reflection and not from me saying “you should apologize for x y z”. It’s pretty rare when it happens but always meaningful and healing.

I have both a pretty good memory and a fairly high standard of behavior (some might say I’m judgmental) so if I think someone behaved shittily I remember it. I don’t know that I’d call it a grudge. I don’t need to “win” or rub it in someone’s face, I just move on and don’t fuck around with them anymore.

Depends. I’m generally a judge for myself person. I’m loyal but not blindly so, and even loved ones have blind spots. But if the behavior that lead to the grudge is serious I don’t feel the need to interrogate the victim I like too closely or deeply. Similarly, if I don’t really know the person the grudge is against I may not take it on but it also easy to just not adjudicate the issue. Not my circus not my monkeys

On a scale of 1 - 10, I am approximately a 2 but like the lovely ladies above me have also said I try to make it very clear.

I was explaining to someone a few weeks ago that I tend not to think anyone is seriously interested until they they pop me on the forehead with their dick (or tits) and until then I think they are just being nice.
