Do you know how many times I'm looking at embarrassing shit on my phone? It's primarily what I do on my phone.

It all comes down to one issue for me.

The reason given for these changes was clearly a load of nonsense. We know it's simply not true.

Does that matter? To me, yes. Lit is a place where we share some of the most personal parts of ourselves (interpret 'part' as you wish). Very simply, I have now have less confidence in Lit.

Lit is an excellent example of the social media principle that if you aren't paying for it, you're the content. We don't pay Lit anything, but we create its content. I took down what I'd published here years ago, so what I think about this doesn't matter. But if authors start getting concerned about unpopular changes being made to the site for opaque reasons, and they decide to find other alternatives, that could be a far bigger problem.

There’s a side of me that understands that my photos were never the most explicit, but some of us create with intention. This whole thing is a blow to the community that was built on creativity.

I just want to make sure that all of us are on the same page when we talk about losing the ability to "attach" images. My understanding of this is that you no longer have the “Attach files” button as an option at the bottom left of your reply window. Using the “Insert image” button at the top of the window "inserts/embeds" the photo from your link into the post itself. It appears that all of us are losing the ability to insert/embed images. I believe that any link from tumblr or giphy is automatically being displayed as a link only. I’m sure it’s happening with images from other sites as well. I tried to use the “Insert image” button to insert a non-nude image from imgbb and got an error message that “Image cannot be loaded from the passed link”. So it won’t even convert it to posting just the link. I have to paste the link in the body of the post itself.

I still have my "Attach files" button and I don't think any of my attached pics have disappeared. I've been trying to go back through threads and remove any attachments that show uncovered ass and/or nipples.

I really don't know what the heck is going on with this. The site owners stated that they were changing their policy to no longer allow nudity. In my "Show Us Just Your Chest" thread, an attached pic where a woman was wearing a blouse and showing just a peek of cleavage was removed from a post. As was an attached pic in another post that just showed a man's chest. I fear that they want a site where there are absolutely no pics, nude or otherwise, where everything has to be linked. If it has to do with the added cost of server space for images, then I would appreciate it if they would just say that and not keep trying to hide behind the excuse of "people reading an erotica site in public don't want anyone to look over their shoulder and see nude images". So far, I have seen no rhyme or reason in which attached images are being removed. And it appears that no images may be inserted or embedded in posts from links. All you can do is post the link itself.

I do want to answer the latest batch of questions when I can get a chance.
