Possibly the dumbest reason given by people who make a terrible decision I’ve ever heard.
And by this theory, if all of us (a very large number of users) complain about not having pic abilities, then this policy should be overturned, right?

It all comes down to one issue for me.

The reason given for these changes was clearly a load of nonsense. We know it's simply not true.

Does that matter? To me, yes. Lit is a place where we share some of the most personal parts of ourselves (interpret 'part' as you wish). Very simply, I have now have less confidence in Lit.

Lit is an excellent example of the social media principle that if you aren't paying for it, you're the content. We don't pay Lit anything, but we create its content. I took down what I'd published here years ago, so what I think about this doesn't matter. But if authors start getting concerned about unpopular changes being made to the site for opaque reasons, and they decide to find other alternatives, that could be a far bigger problem.

The pictures aren't a crisis for me. There are a couple of threads I check in on, but I'm not that visual.

There’s a side of me that understands that my photos were never the most explicit, but some of us create with intention. This whole thing is a blow to the community that was built on creativity.
