Variations on a theme

I was rearranging my plants to take a different picture when one toppled and smashed the vase. I was about to clean it up when I realized I had just accidentally created the image I was trying to manufacture! Not perfectly framed, imperfect lighting and not quite the composition.. but 1000000423.jpga better picture than the one I had intended to create 🖤💚

Oddly, this is perfect.

You say the lighting is imperfect, but I love the dappled colour on the floor from light bouncing off the plants, and the hazy sunlight is something you'd never have managed to get if you'd tried!

I love this picture, but I'm sorry your vase had to sacrifice itself in order to get it

This is beautiful

This was my 40th birthday present. The only decent instrument I've ever owned. I bought it 2nd hand, and kept it out of the way for ages until my birthday. The only presents I got were contributions to it, but it's the best guitar I've ever had.

One day I picked it out of its case, and this was there. I think son the younger had something trapped under it when he put it back, and shut the lid 😢

It still plays well, and I don't have the heart to chew him out. But fuck...

I tried to filter this so many times but fuck it, it’s me! It took me too long to be ok with that scar and It’s a reminder of the two best humans I know. Also, the belly button scar that let me know I’m allergic to nickel and waited too long to accept that fact 🤭

I'm glad you've accepted the scar. Making a human is HARD. You're allowed to have marks and scars from the process. Some of us even find them quite attractive.

Edited to add: what others think of women's bodies is irrelevant and I know this. I only mentioned that some find it attractive because of the pervasive (and in my opinion absurd) narrative that stretch marks and scars are imperfections that ruin bodies and make women unattractive. That narrative needs to fuck off and I think people should be proud of what their bodies have gone through and survived.
