"In other words, Trudeau called Trump's bluff and Trump lost the trade war in less than 24 hours"

Maybe if this administration had any brains they wouldn't need to keep back tracking.

Reading the comments is pretty entertaining...not a lot of happy Trumpers...

The first 20 comments in a fox business thread are critical of Putin's Poodle's on-again-off-again tariffs.

Common hivemind says 'Trump is playing games with the financial markets, prolly to his advantage'

We live in Interesting Times, folks.

I've mused that myself.

I can say, I never thought I see the day the someone tried to turn back time.

The US President clearly claimed that Americans didn't need anything from Canada.... better hope someone doesn't inadvertently pull off the Canadian switch on the gridline feeding NY (including the City).

Bears would certainly be running wild in Wall Street!!!!

Meanwhile … Canada’s exports are doing very well.

Canada's trade surplus in January exceeded expectations by a wide margin to post a 32-month record as fears of tariff from the U.S. pushed exports of cars and energy products, especially south of its border, data showed on Thursday.

Canada posted a trade surplus of C$3.97 billion ($2.76 billion), more than double the upwardly revised C$1.69 billion seen in December, Statistics Canada said. This was a second consecutive month when exports far exceeded imports although booth grew by a healthy margin.

MAGAts were duped once again, this time into believing in the Tooth Fairy.

Did Elon buy MSNBC yet? Is gasoline getting cheaper? Is there peace in the Middle East? Do we now have sufficient farm and construction workers? Is the measles outbreak under control? Have Amerikans quit swallowing fentanyl? Have Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal Zone been annexed?

A Golden Age of chaos and confict...

The stock markets are tanking again today, so Trump just announced he’s “pausing” some tariffs on Mexico.

Doddering Donnie is totally spineless. The slightest pushback from Wall Street causes him to abandon the core policies of his campaign. 😆

I remember years ago Mexico repeatedly assured money traders they would not devalue the peso. Then they devalued the peso. The foreign exchange traders proceeded to crush the peso into worthlessness and sink the entire Mexican economy, which had been growing rapidly. Don’t mess with Wall Street.
Wasn't THAT a comedy of errors.
  • Clinton gets NAFTA passed.
  • Mexican middle-class has tremendous pent-up buying demand for all sorts of US goods, now tariff-free, resulting in a huge trade deficit with the US.
  • Mexico, flush with US dollars, figures it can attract foreign investment by backing Mexican bonds with US dollar guarantees. This succeeds beyond their wildest dreams.
  • Wall Street notices it can makes something like a 2% higher yield by buying Mexican treasury bonds instead of US treasuries. They buy virtually every Mexican bond available.
  • Mexico slowly but surely draws down their USD reserves...eventually there are no USD left in the Mexican treasury.
  • Mexico is forced to devalue the peso by uncoupling it from a pegged USD rate
  • All hell breaks loose
  • Wall Street 'loses confidence' in the Mexican peso and a triggers steep depression in Mexico in 1995, featuring 50% inflation.
  • Mexico returns to subsistence farming, with big plots of marijuana as well. The cartels embiggen and eventually diversify into crystal meth and later fentanyl.

Although NAFTA's final ratification was signed by Clinton, the Free Trade Agreement was Ronald Reagan's idea as part of his 1980 presidential campaign. Subsequently the original NAFTA agreement was actually first signed by George HW Bush. Free Trade is clearly a Bi-Partisan policy supported by every Republican and Democrat administration, including George Bush, Obama, Trump 45, and Biden. The real comedy of errors begins with Trump 47.

Tariffs have been postponed again because the felon is an economic illiterate idiot.

Canada has the right idea. Sadly, they are facing someone who feels laws 'n treaties are little more than 'advisory in nature'.

It was good to see the Supreme Court bitchslap Don Cheetolini this morning about USAID payments, but a bit scary that the vote was a scant 5-4.

"Justice' Barrett seems to be having some sort of crisis of confidence of late. She's been all over the map with her recent decisions.
Seems I'm not the only one who noticed!

Where tariffs?

🤷‍♂️
There still here, at least on our side. Fuck Trump, he can give a reprieve till April 2nd, but we're pissed. They stay on until Trump gets his nose so bloodied Congress is forced to impeach his stupid ass....*chuckles*

Canadians are getting sick of bailing out our American cousins.... ;)

He only paused the tariffs on the NAFTA,CUSMA,USMCA trade deal. All the others he kept in place, so we kept all of ours on. Even on the trade deal items.

On Monday Ontario will place a 25% export tax on electricity. Michigan is one of the larger customers. The big three just told trump to drop tariffs on automobiles, and he did. Now we just added 25% to their electrical bill. I'm thinking they'll be phoning Trump once again.

Thanks, Deplorables - this is all on you, and Americans will remember! (y) :)

Target CEO: Expect price increases in the next couple days because of tariffs

Yesterday was the first day of Lent. Many historical black churches are urging their congregations to 'give up Target for Lent' since Target embraced 'White Pride' and rolled back all DEI initiatives.

Search for Target stores on Titkok and read some of the replies to their various PR posts. :nana: :nana: :nana:
