Mexico and Canada tariffs will start tomorrow, as promised by Trump! (Maybe.)

Any chance they'll rejoin the EU?
The EU won't have them. Germany and Benelux might, but only because they want someone else to share the costs. The rest are all parasites (net takers) UK was in decline anyway, either in or out.

Good comment I heard today on a pod (source irrelevant)

America gets its strength from our stability, not our instability. 47's unpredictability is not increasing that

Doddering Donnie’s excuse for the tariffs is fentanyl, but I agree with Mexico’s president on that subject:

The side which needs to do more, she argues, is the United States, to work harder on the demand side as the world's biggest market for illegal drugs. And, crucially, stem the tide of illegal weapons heading south, from the US, into the arms of the Mexican cartels. The two sides remain far apart on that issue.

Prohibition of alcohol resulted in a rise in crime and gangs. The prohibition of drugs has resulted in the same things, on a worldwide scale. Legalizing drugs is the only solution; everything else is a proven disaster.

And the flow of guns from the US to Mexican cartels is a fucking disgrace, but no Republican will do anything to stop it because the gun manufacturers bribe politicians.
