The 2025 750 Word Story Challenge Support Thread

I have an already existing WIP that's at ~800 words and I see where I could trim it to 400-500 and finish it quicker...

I was enjoying adding to it, but brevity might fit the mood of the piece better.

Paste the doc into the submission text box and use the diagonal arrows to expand it. You'll see the official word count.
I'll do this with 750s from now on. I usually upload my original rather than cut and paste because uploading maintains italics and other characteristics I want to keep in the story. 750s are short enough so I can cut and paste and 'rebuild' if the 'orthography' is important to the tale. Thanks Rusty

I've written a fetish piece for the challenge tonight, and after reading the thread on the voice you choose to tell your story, I have written it in second person. It was tough, because I never use that voice! In fact, about half way through, I had to go back and fix several errors. Not sure yet if I'm going to publish it, but it was a great exercise for me as a writer.

So much for Reviews & Essays. My 750 Word item, which dropped there on the 15th, now has fewer views than the GM story that dropped last night. I suspect the combination of 750 Words and Reviews/Essays category is one only a few aficionados will peruse. They may be few views, but they're all quality: that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Mine has been up for 2 days and has 305 views, lol. Reviews and Essays is definitely a very slow category.

I have a story in SF&F that's been up for 15 days and has 442 views. Even my WIWAWs in R&E were more popular.
My next lowest for views is my WIWAW. 7 months at 1.5k views. Most of which are probably people who filtered over from my Halloween story, lol.

I would like to point out that poetry is probably the least read category on Lit.

I think my lowest read ever was up for about 2 months with about 200 views.

I will say I get a fair number of comments on them, so it's not all bad, the category is just a little neglected.

Neglected, it's overgrown with weeds, crumbling castles, empty hotels, and bars, all a ramshackle mess complete with peeling paint and rusted metal waist. Yeah, and poets are finding followers at a snail's pace.

Precisely! I have a nonerotic poem that I put up on 1/2022. It has 7 votes and 618 views in all that time. Of course on my part, not being a poet might have a little to do with that.

Very true! (Exceptions made for the good poets, I am not one of those.)

I still like hanging out there sometimes, though.

I'd have to check my screenshots, but I might have one that was doing a little worse, lol. I know I had one with a perfect score (and like 5 votes, maybe.)

Non erotic is definitely worse for views and votes than erotic poems.

Sadly, that seems to be true outside the Literotica community as well. And this is a time when we need poets.

Somebody's gotta go up.
True enough: one character must go up so the other character can go down...hmmm...one person looks at another meaningfully while holding the Up button, waiting for the other to signal his availability by pressing the Down button on the same elevator keypad...might be a story in that.
