Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense

The funniest part of the Fort Bragg name was that Bragg was a shitty confederate leader. He was known for being incompetent, shooting his own soldiers and losing almost every battle he fought.

Dave ("ChloeTzang") will be along shortly to retcon each and every Bragg defeat as "technically a 'victory' ".

I’m not sure why I even try…

Go read some history and get back to me. Areas of focus should be Lincoln, reconstruction, and Johnson. When your fog clears maybe we can have a discussion based on facts and not a diatribe on your opinion.

Ft Bragg is coming back. I hope Ft Rucker is following soon after. Piss and moan all you want if it makes you feel better.
Seems it not 'the' fort bragg of old. Renamed for another fella named Brag. So no it's not exactly back.

I can't wait for Fort Gage and Fort Howe.

Or perhaps ft Napoleon and fort Mussolini.

Celebrate the people who dedicated themselves to ending our country....it's the maga way
Fort Rommel and Yamamoto Naval Base.

I can SORT of understand the argument that the common foot soldier of the Confederacy was nothing more than a pawn, a peon who might not have had any real say in what their government was doing, and who may have been drafted and forced to fight a war that he might not even have supported. And fought bravely for a losing or immoral cause, despite not necessarily believing in that cause. In that case, we should neither commemorate nor condemn the common foot soldier, but rather, condemn in no uncertain terms the generals and leaders of the Confederacy and the cause they championed.

LOL. Nah, you Democrat slavers lost the war, but you're still slavers, and Republicans are still fighting to free the slaves and return them to their own countries
If the immigrants wanted to return to their old countries, they would go -- nobody is holding them in bondage.

Fort Rommel and Yamamoto Naval Base.

Fort Erwin Rommel kind of resonates. I'm sure the armored guys would go for that one. After all, we're still writing songs about him and his armored units....

Not to mention....

If the immigrants wanted to return to their old countries, they would go -- nobody is holding them in bondage.

One: They're NOT immigrants. Let's not confuse things here. They're illegal aliens who have broken the law. Immigrants come here legally.

Two: In point of fact, a lot of these illegal aliens paid traffickers large sums of money and they're often in debt. Many of the unaccompanied children have been sold by heir parents to traffickers and once here, go into the sex industry or are used as slave labor. Read up on human trafficking. It's the modern version of the slave trade, and it's been sponsored and supported by Democrats.

The term immigrant under the law doesn't match your rhetoric.

Maybe work on that first.

Disagree on much of that, but it's a long argument and it's ongoing, so no point in either of us reprising it.

Personally, I think we should just respect history and respect the dead and leave it at that.

Semantics again. Your gotta get past this and go with the intent. Legal vs illegal is the point and no, I have no intention of going all pedantic. LOL

The law.

Asylum seekers are legally immigrants.

Your understanding of semantics notwithstanding.

If your argument is outside the law, then perhaps quit pretending it isn't.

I'll add here - I understand that the law is not aligned with your perspective and i appreciate your right to lobby for your position. But you want to move ahead with your non legal definitions as the base argument.

I prefer to adjust the law so that asylum laws are more sustainable and aligned with political capital. And in the end, this approach is more aligned and more possible with your perspective.

We have very very few genuine asylum seekers. Cubans and white South Africans, sure, but if they're in Mexico, they're safe and we should just seal that border. as Trump is doing.

We're not a welfare agency for the world, and no, I'm not really interested in the Democrat definition of the law.

Who decides that and why?

Again, you're not only ignoring the problem, you'd prefer that the law be ignored.

I haven't given you a party specific definition of the law. You have given me one.

Schoolchildren walk out of Pete Hegseth’s speech in DEI protest

Dozens of students walked out of their German school during a visit by the US defence secretary in protest over Donald Trump’s crackdown on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

American students at a US military installation walked out of Patch Middle School in Stuttgart for nearly an hour.

Pete Hegseth, the defence secretary, was booed by a group of adults who live at the military base who heckled him with chants of “DEI!”.

About 55 students “walked out in protest of recent events”, according to a letter from the school obtained by the Washington Post.

Since his confirmation last month, Mr Hegseth has banned Black History Month celebrations and restricted access to several books in defence department schools.

He has also announced that the US will no longer accept transgender service members and ordered a pause on trans healthcare treatments.

the more libtards complain about a person and or thing, the more I know it's the right thing, the libtards always get everything wrong, and we'll laugh and clown you all, because you are clowns.

Tiny Peter Hegseth is committed to a return to an all-white, all-male military. Yes, there will be some jobs for "the blacks" (we had the all-black Red Ball Express and the Tuskegee Airmen back in WW2, you might recall), but there is no room for Latinos, women (except the typing pool) and especially queers in this man's military.
