Trump is not as important as some seem to think

Why?! Why are RW memes so consistently, unexceptionally lame and stupid?!
it probably has something to do with this:

Pew Research Center, April 9, 2024

  • The Republican Party now holds a 6 percentage point advantage over the Democratic Party (51% to 45%) among voters who do not have a bachelor’s degree. Voters who do not have a four-year degree make up a 60% majority of all registered voters.
  • By comparison, the Democratic Party has a 13-point advantage (55% vs. 42%) among those with a bachelor’s degree or more formal education.

That could explain a lot.

But there was a time when there were smart conservatives. A time when they could reasonably think of themselves as defending civilization from the passions of the ignorant masses.

What happened?! How did they become the ignorant masses?!

There still are smart conservatives, but they are in the minority among those with intelligence and education.

He is not a transformative figure like FDR, or even like Obama. Trump's election constitutes no paradigm-breaker, no game-changer, no new party system in American politics. He will leave no important traces when he passes, and his RW populist-nationalist movement will revert to the same ridiculous-crank status the Tea Party held before him.
FDR served 4 terms during a World War. Trump is 3 weeks into his presidency which was interrupted by a really bad halftime show.

You need to keep up.What trump wants is total power. All it takes is acquiescence.

Please be honest. Even the dipshits over at CNN no better:
Ah yes, the old "even Cokie Roberts agrees with us" trick, where they point to a supposedly liberal source which in fact has a conservative bias if anything. (So named for the pundit who, in my opinion, had the widest gulf between her reputation and her actual politics.) It's one of the biggest advantages (for the Republicans) of the myth of the liberal media.

You were responding to post #3, which is about his strength in Congress.
Nobody said he had any inherent strength based on his approval in Congress. His plenary authority comes from the Constitution.

His authority does not come from his approval rating at the moment, And no president gets anything done worth doing without Congress.

Trump's got more done in two weeks than Joe did in four years.
