Sex & Shenanigans

:O the first book is my favorite... it's raw, imaginative, unique, and has King's best opening line ever!

The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

It's perfect! It sparks such curiosity; who's the man in black, who's the gunslinger, which one's the bad guy, what led up to this point?? I was hooked from the start.
To me it just was so meh …. It got better once he met Jake but still didn’t interest me.

Though with King books …. I’ve found his world building is so intense that book one is just like the first 25/% of any of his books where you’re just settling in.

And then it gets...weird.

"Steven, what brilliant, well written, incredibly important character are you planning for this book?"

Hahahah yeah for a while there it really felt like he'd fallen back into his coke habit.

On another note, good morning! I've got a thing for you that I made! Gimme a few minutes...
I was wondering if you could get coke flashbacks. But I will say, as much as I had problems with the last novel, (and Oy deserved so much better) he Absolutely. Fucking. Stuck. The. Landing. His best ending ever.

Perfect. I just put the book down and smiled at the walls for a while.

Yeah like the meeting himself as a character and him being the conduit for the story… at that point I was like … uhm… what’s going on here??
still enjoyed it though
