Runners unite

Anyone running today (Christmas day)?
We are visiting family, so got to do a favorite route that is out of the ordinary. They live near a lake with a path that circles it. There is snow on the ground and the lake is mostly frozen over. 100s of geese flew overhead and landed on the few remaining water patches. I also saw a blue heron, a hawk, and lots of deer grazing. It was a beautiful run, getting to experience nature and the energy of the earth!

That sounds amazing.

There’s a charity run in a local park today (it’s very short) then hopefully I’ll get a longer run tmw.
There’s nowhere near me that sounds as amazing as the lake run described above but it’s inspired me to go and run along the sea tmw - at least get away from the busy streets.

I did a ParkRun event on Christmas Day. We had over 280 participants at that location.

I’m intending on also doing one of the New Year’s Day parkrun events too, but haven’t decided which one.
I've nearly always ran New Years day but working this one so may struggle.

They didn't groom the ski trails this morning so instead did an 8.5 mi trail run. Felt awful LOL. Probably still recovering from Christmas food coma.

Who here has a longer distance resolution for 2025?
I’m going to do a half marathon in March I hope 🤞 but then flip over to a triathlon in the summer, prob somewhere in France but I need to get some stars to align.
Would like do a marathon at some stage but the training just eats into all your free time and then you have to cut out other fun activities.

How about you??
