Runners unite

Starting to feel bad… no running 🏃 yet in 2025, but hoping the two weeks skiing have been compensating so far.

However, need to get my ass moving again.
I've been ill with a constant cold/flu so not really ran.
Ran yesterday but felt so hard.
Where are you skiing?

Finally Friday. How many miles/kilometers did you guys/gals manage to run this week?

An interesting shoe story: earlier in this very thread I mentioned switching to cheaper shoes to coincide with me not being as dedicated a runner as I once was.

My newfound cheaper shoes though, something was off. They should have felt cooler since the fabric was super thin and light but they didn’t. They were warm on the inside and unglamorously I have to say they made my feet sweat even just wearing around the house. The insoles are basically foam (not rubber).

So one day, more so because the cloth covering of the insoles peeled and became annoying, I swapped insoles from one of my retired (demoted to lawnmowing) far more expensive shoes into the new cheap shoes. And wow! Now they feel like they should.

So. Recycle those insoles! For me, my shoes uppers particularly up front start tearing first as they get older, then mostly the soles/insoles are fine for years of additional service.

Wow! I never thought about that. Thanks for the tip. 😘

Snow coming down today here....2-4" expected.

Marathon training day one starts tomorrow.

In which I get to teach my group about the importance.of patience and fortitude.

Anyone been out this morning? I was skiing at the start of the week...thighs a bit sore, but did a 5km

Yesterday’s 10m race went well - exceeded my expectations in terms of finish time by a minute or so. Gradually getting back to my best, which was 2022 in terms of times. Keep being patient and it’ll come… 🤞🏻

Hope everyone else enjoyed some running over the weekend!

Former runner here I just wanted to say you're all crazy. 6:00 AM here -10 and she's out running. God, I miss those days when I was out there doing the same.
PS She's 69 and never misses a day

That’s awesome. My Dad is 76 and is the same, he’s my inspiration. When we were kids he was up at 5:30am every week day to run and then do core exercises. I wish I had that dedication and will power!
