I worked at JCPenney. Christmas Eve was the day men would come to me, tell me their wife’s size and their style and ask me to shop for them. I always giggled

I told this story on another thread that reminds married men to shop for their wives for Christmas.
Thirteen years ago, my wife lost her mother. The December after, she received her first trust fund check since her grandparents had her mom on a trust fund after their passing.
It was the first Christmas she allowed me to shop for her gifts since before then, we never had enough and she always wants to be Mrs. Claus.
She gave me an amount and I attempted to shop. And I f'ed up.
I bought her three gifts that year.
-Tae Bo video.
-Exercise small equipment (small hand weights, bouncy ball, etc.)
-a sapphire ring which was a hit except she lost it three months later.
Since then, she never let me shop for her for Christmas again although I did surprise her a multitude of times since then when she least expected it.
So, for the ladies out there from an old, not so ancient dragon. If you're expecting your guy to be a hit at surprising you, help him learn how.
