VENEZUELA - Why isn't socialism working?

Most of the terrorism that happens in the US is done by white trash.

If the US hadn't been meddling in Middle Eastern politics by propping up unpopular regimes (the Shah in Iran, the House of Saud in Saudi Arabia, Saddam Hussein in Iraq) to halt the spread of Soviet-style communism and ensure a steady supply of cheap oil since around 1950, Iran might not be a theocracy and neither the Persian Gulf War nor 9/11 might have happened.

Muslims in the US make up barely 1% of the population. They don't have the votes to threaten anybody else's lives or liberties. Christians still hold a majority in the US, and authoritarians of the white Christian supremacist persuasion have an entire political party bought, paid for, and eager to do their bidding: the Republicans.

Why do you think women's rights to bodily autonomy are once again subject to majority votes in state legislatures? It wasn't because of Muslims. Who do you think is doing most of the mass shooting in the US? It ain't Muslims, either.

You forgot to include Nazi Germany in your list of nations that the United States has "fucked up" in the past century Jack. Yes, Germany was Hitler's own fucking country in the 1930's & early 1940's, but I'm very pleased that we didn't leave the Nazis alone, as you seemingly suggest.

Meanwhile, in the case of Venezuela, we HAVE left that nation alone. But now that the Venezuelan people have chosen a new president (Juan Guaido), the U.S.A., ALL of the Latin American democracies, & our European Union allies now recognize GUAIDO as the democratically elected leader of Venezuela over wannabee-dictator, Nicolas Maduro.

Russia's Vladimir Putin, China's Communist government, the oppressive Cuban dictatorial regime, and many socialists within the U.S. Democratic Party are the ONLY people still openly backing Maduro.

No, the problem with Venezuela is DEFINITELY socialism, and if EXXON wants to make a deal regarding that nation's oil exports they need to work with the legitimate president of Venezuela: Juan Guaido - and NOT the wealthy socialist thugs in the Maduro regime who have been plundering their own people!

Venezuela is a huge embarrassment for American socialists like Bernie Sanders & Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who have been trying to implement exactly that kind of a hellish economic nightmare right here in the United States. Deep down, you KNOW they want Maduro to survive, and you can bet that if Bernie was America's president today we wouldn't have recognized the government of Juan Guaido!

Let's not forget Cuba in our damnation of socialism in general.

agreed that the US should never heave been involved in nation building, and political assassinations to get their "preferred" cronyism leaders .... but the US/Mideast Muslim world goes back to the Muslim started Barbary Wars, so in the long history of the US and the Mideast interference in each others business goes back to our founding as a nation, when we were relatively weak and preyed upon by the Muslim Pirates.
