The Imperial Green Government

Petey, aren't you proud of your crowd?

They define who you are to the rest of us.

"And that trick, you know? Of starting a long sentence that you can’t manage and then turning the first part into a question? And the end into a statement? It’s tired. Like, really tired. Very tired. Breaking it into several questions and then one statement? Still tired. Sentence fragments after the statement? Tired. Exhausted. Hyphenated-string-of-words-to-create-a-humorous-modifier exhausted. Starting-the-paragraph’s-final-sentence-with-“Yes”-a-comma-and-then-restating-the-paragraph’s-beaten-to-death-assertion exhausted. Yes, that exhausted."

Petey, they do Democratic Socialism proud!!!

Science means nada to these guys; the only thing that matters is crushing the enemies of their education!

Acknowledging an ever-growing scientific consensus makes someone a socialist. Giving science the finger in favor for Republican party ideology, well that makes a person a real American!

The Chief is a veritable poster child for epistemic closure.

Just look at all the well thought out, well researched responses to the OP. *chuckle*

You got to love the part about the Oyster shit. The area is obviously good Oyster habitat otherwise the lessee's wouldn't have been so successful for so long. Perhaps the Feds believe that if the farmers go away, so will the Oysters??? Or perhaps they believe that 'feral' Oysters shit less than 'domesticated' Oysters? Perhaps the Feds plans are to just poison the Oyster beds so they can finally clean up all that shit? The whole subject of "Oyster feces" as being an environmental issue really does sidetrack the entire discussion into the 'so what' compartment.

Oysters are filter feeders. Healthy Oyster beds are a sign of a healthy marine ecosystem. Polluted ecosystems produce polluted, and dangerous to eat, Oysters. The fact that the Oysters have been thriving there, healthily, and not killing the final customer is prima facia evidence of the Feds scientific malfeasance. The Feds wanted to put the lands off limits and were determined to produce any evidence necessary to support that goal.

But this is merely the tip of an ice berg of growing proportions. The NPS and NFS have been using their funds to acquire more land every year. And there is no evidence that this is going to stop. The Feds already own over 33% of ALL US lands. The NPS and NFS budgets are such that they cannot hire the people that would be required to manage the lands already under their jurisdiction (the word 'care' just doesn't fit). Even so, every year, they siphon off funds to purchase more land that they are incapable of managing responsibly.

And those lands will never be managed responsibly. Even if the wildest dreams of some come to pass and the US becomes the next "Workers Paradise" with hordes of conscripted laborers are turned loose in the national parks and forests to 'return the lands to ecological balance', the result will be an ecological nightmare. But it will help with the unemployment numbers.

Imerial Green is really nice on draped curtains. Unless your wallpaper is Monotheistic Mauve. Cause that shit clashes in the worst of ways.

The OP was neither well thought-out, nor well-researched. Not sure why it should be dignified with serious discourse.

Meanwhile, back in the reality-based world...

The Lundys and Drake Bay Oysters bought out the remaining 7 years of the lease held by a failing oyster farm in 2005. Everyone and his brother knew the lease would expire in 2012 and that by law it could not be renewed.

Drake Bay then dumped millions of non-native oysters into the bay, gambling on a Republican victory in 2012 that would grease the skids towards an unprecedented renewal of a lease in a protected area.

This risky gamble obviously did not pay off.

So now we have the NRO wringing their hands about these poor unfortunate Oyster farmers, and the usual suspects chiming in with their predictable howls of situational outrage.
