So I know someone who has a breeding kink but they simultaneously are terrified of pregnancy…but also would really like kids…which made me think of this idea.

So in the future humanity’s population has greatly declined due to lower birth rates overall as well as increased miscarriages.

To combat this, governments around the world increased efforts to eradicate disease and heavily invested in a new artificial womb program which is free to use by all citizens.

Effectively, a zygote to a several month old fetus can quickly and safely be transplanted into a an artificial womb where its vitals will be regularly monitored and will be given proper nutrition and support to have the best outcome. Once the fetus is fully developed, the parents can either take it with them as their child or give it up to the state/adoption. The entire process is at no cost to the mother and father can resend his parental rights and financial responsibility at anytime.

So how would that change society? I think it would be fun to explore the system at its once it starts being utilized, and then once it’s commonplace and accepted.

So for example, when it’s first utilized people see it more as an abortion alternative (which of course still riles up certain groups despite the fetus living) so you have scare mongering stories as well as governments trying to find influencers to help promote the program (like they try to get a tiktok challenge going where women get pregnant go to the clinic and then shoot a video about how easy it is), or you have people trying to cause controversy with it (18 year old decides to have a scandal at her school by doing a report on the nearby clinic and then getting pregnant and transferring one or two zygotes to the artificial wombs)

But after it’s commonplace you have different kinds of stories as society has changed. You have a natural birth movement where people want to go the full nine months and wear special maternity clothes but they also are benefiting the more sexually liberated side of society.

You could have a story where parents are actually encouraging their daughters to go out and get pregnant so they can learn how the clinic works, maybe it’s even seen like a right of passage like getting your driver’s license.

You could have a business women who only makes deals with guys that can knock her up.

And of course now people with breeding kinks are free to get pregnant as much as they want at no risk…as long as they remember to do the transfer before the fetus grows too big. So you could have a story where a woman with a breeding kink keeps pushing it off until it’s too late.

What are some other ideas that could happen with a setting like this?

It's an interesting idea. I wonder how much wear and tear will that have on the uterus? How many times can we have an implanted baby extracted from our body? Will conservatives use this as a political weapon by calling it Harvesting?? How much nutrition will be synthetic or can the warmth and body fluids of a human mother be organically duplicated? Or will men turn this into a baby making factory if it's profitable enough? Using young women as a breeding farm where men can go to get their sexual fulfillment... breed as many wombs as they want... and have their offspring harvested. You're relying on humans to do the right thing... History has proven we rarely do.
