Today Xena has her first trip to the United States of America. Rick and I are taking her to the US Embassy in London to meet some of his colleagues before we register her as his daughter.

Colder than a witch's---*cough* no offense to witches. I was one for a very long time. Moved on. We're in the middle of a ground blizzard warning. The winds are suppose to kick up and with it, the snow. Haven't seen that yet. I'm glad I have a day off before my working weekend.

CG... some complicating news to share with you and Kama. I just got a letter back from my doctor. Looks like my left knee is going to need shots and possibly I'm facing a knee joint replacement. Can't afford to take time off from work so I'm going to see my new knee doc in two weeks for assessment and I'm going to explain the situation to him. Hopefully he can come up with an alternative for me. I'm hoping they can brace it so between the brace and the shots I'll be okay for some time. Hopefully, it'll buy Dryfter some time to secure a better job that'll work for us and allow for my operation, months ahead. I just plain wore out my knee. I'm not looking forward to any of this. However, I'll face it and deal with it as much as my situation will allow.

Now, how is everyone else?

Knee surgery is never easy to deal with and is only ever undertaken as a last resort. Your surgeon / specialist will advise you on what to do to help with your symptoms. If it is decided surgery is the only viable option you’ll be assigned a specialist nurse who’ll take you through everything. It’s a long journey but you should be fine afterwards.

Xena conquered the staff at the Embassy yesterday and was the star of the show. We plan to take her to Texas in the summer. We want her to feel she’s a citizen of two great nations.

On a different note the government is open for another three weeks so I can get some back pay. My question is in three weeks will we have to go through this idiocy again.

I was talking to my grandparents last night who both agreed that we have the worst Prime Minister they can remember (and my granddad is nearly 80). But the alternative, the guy who will run against her, seems EVEN WORSE! Thank God we’re Soldiers of the Queen - I don’t think I could fight for this lot!

One of those things we should never forget, but that I don't like remembering. Just the word Holocaust makes me weepy.

Did you ever go to the Museum of Tolerance when you were in Los Angeles? The pictures... sigh. It is one of those places where you start crying the minute you walk in the place.

S F we best not forget. The forces of darkness always have to have a them to vilify. A dark threat that must be confronted at any cost. We must remember what that kind of vilification of a minority will bring. It happened in 1930's Germany and we best believe it can happen hear.
