Tommy headed into Ally's bedroom, hoping his fears were wrong, that he had misinterpreted her words. He dressed slowly, partly trying to figure out what happened, but also hoping she would come in and want to stop him, that she couldn't bare to see him leave.
However, she never came in, never said a word to try to stop him. Soon, he was dressed and came out, he looked over at her, but saw her look away. He wants to go see her, but he feels so foolish, how had he let himself believe she was actually falling in love with him. He had just been safe, and no man wants that to be the reason a woman is with him. If he didn't make her feel things, desires she had never felt before, she should go find someone who did.
He tried to smile at her, but she didn't look up, obviously wanting him to leave. As he opened the door, he finally turned, choked up himself, despite being a man who virtually never cried, "I hope you figure out and find what you are looking for....what you truly desire...take care Ally..." He felt his throat close, and was not about to make a bigger fool of himself than he already had....he closed the door behind him and went across the hall, opening a door to an apartment that suddenly felt overwhelmingly lonely. He kept the lights off and went in and just laid down in the dark. Maybe sleep would help him figure out...how he had misread this so bad....but when he closed his eyes, all he saw was Sam...and that made him about want to throw up. All he could do was think, "how could she have possibly felt more for him than me?"
