caitlyn or melania?

if pbs runs the current episode of "firing line with margaret hoover" in your area, it's a must see. her guest is caitlyn jenner.....at least, i THINK it was caitlyn jenner. she has become melania's clone-same hair, same make-up, same fashion sense. we were rolling on the floor last night, she looks like melania's mother or her older crack whore sister. now, i've been wondering ever since, is the look intentional. is caitlyn smart enough to be angling to be the new mrs., after donald gets out of jail and divorced?

We Knew Trump Was Probably A Russian Intelligence Asset, But HOLY F*CK

Wednesday, during Donald Trump's weird cabinet meeting, where he had his own "Game Of Thrones"-style poster of himself on the table and forced everybody to scratch and sniff it in fealty to the king, the president said something that made our head spin. Of course, he always does that, and even for professionals like ourselves, Trump's word salad gibberish often flies right past our heads. But this one comment flew past our head, made a couple rotations around the sun, and then came back and smacked us upside the face. Did he really just say what I thought he ...

Yes. He did.

Russia used to be the Soviet Union. Afghanistan made it Russia, because they went bankrupt fighting in Afghanistan. Russia … the reason Russia was in Afghanistan was because terrorists were going into Russia. They were right to be there. The problem is, it was a tough fight. And literally they went bankrupt; they went into being called Russia again, as opposed to the Soviet Union. You know, a lot of these places you're reading about now are no longer part of Russia, because of Afghanistan.

At the time, we were like, UM, MISTER DIPSHIT, we think there was a bit more than that, and also WRONG AGAIN, ASSHOLE, but we left it there. But Trump's comment stuck with us and kept bothering us because holy shit, he just justified the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the endless war that came after that, which was basically their Vietnam. That is not a position any serious American takes, because it's not remotely what happened between 1979 to 1989 when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan.

Moscow's Man in the Oval Office expects America to believe him? Ha Ha Ha Ha Hoo Boy!:D

McConnell left powerless on the sidelines with a fracturing party and a stalled agenda after Trump shuts everything down

Turtle is Stumped, or just on a post?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) had big plans for the New Year to push through federal judgeships and bills dear to his heart only to be left standing on the sideline as a spectator when President Donald Trump shut the federal government in a fit of pique because Democrats won’t pay for his border wall.

According to a report at Bloomberg, McConnell planned to use an increase in the majority of Republicans in the Senate — having picked up two more seats in the midterm elections — to assert his continuing authority until Trump threw a wrench in his plans.

Senate Minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) stated on Friday that McConnell needs to get off the bench and do something to get the government running again.

“Why is Leader McConnell shuffling off to the sidelines, pointing his fingers at everyone else and saying he won’t be involved? Probably because he realizes this president, President Trump, is erratic, unreliable, and sometimes irrational,” Schumer told reporters on Friday.. “America needs Leader McConnell to get involved to stop this shutdown.”

Get out of your shell and reason with Lumpy Mitch!:D

Trump shredded for attacking struggling federal workers living without paychecks: ‘His Marie Antoinette moment

However, I will say that I think that this government shutdown is president trump’s Marie Antoinette moment, where he’s saying, basically, ‘let them eat cake’ — while his cabinet members are receiving $10,000 annual raises, he’s saying that the 800,000 federal employees affected by this shutdown should just tell their landlords to be easy and figure it out when it comes time to paying their utilities,” Beverly explained.

“That is an interesting analogy there, first time I’ve heard that, but it certainly applies,” Witt noted.

Antoinette was convicted of high treason, among other crimes, and was guillotined in 1793.

Trump’s wall was a gimmick cooked up by advisers so he would remember to bash immigrants in speeches

Advisors Sam Nunberg and Roger Stone created the idea of the wall as a memory trick used to manage the candidate.

“How do we get him to continue to talk about immigration?” Nunberg said he told Stone. “We’re going to get him to talk about he’s going to build a wall.”

It worked, Trump remembered to talk about immigration during the campaign.

The executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, which argues for less immigration, said Trump’s wall strategy backfired after he was elected.

“As a messaging strategy, it was pretty successful,” Mark Krikorian said. “The problem is, you got elected; now what do you do? Having made it his signature issue, Trump handed the Democrats a weapon against him.”

One of Trump’s close personal friends also told The Times he thinks Trump made a mistake.

“Listening to Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter on this is a mistake,” said Newsmax chief executive Chris Ruddy.

Oh for fuck's sake!

Trump administration did not understand chaos they would create before president shut it down

The Trump administration did not anticipate a lengthy shutdown of the federal government, nor did it grasp what the federal government actually does before President Donald Trump shut it down December 22.

Now hours away from entering the third week of the shutdown, administration officials are scrambling to understand what they’ve done, according to a scathing report in The Washington Post Friday evening.

One far right wing GOP Congressman who serves as the chairman of the extremist Freedom Caucus was also reportedly unaware that food stamps would run out and Americans will literally go hungry in the dead of winter.

“Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), a top House conservative who had cheered Trump’s approach in the political confrontation, said he was unaware that there would be any impact on SNAP benefits,” the Post reports.

“He said he was convinced this money was automatically appropriated by Congress: ‘Food stamps go on regardless,’ he said.”

That is incorrect.

Lumpy isn't the only dumbshit in DC!:D

Trump Prepares To Unleash Emergency Batsh*t Powers

At one point, Trump even said that when it comes right down to it, Trump doesn't even need to get Congressional authorization or appropriations for WALL, because he can totally just declare a national emergency for WALL:

We can call a national emergency because of the security of the country. We can do it. I haven't done it. I may do it. I may do it! [...] We can call a national emergency and build it very quickly and it's another way of doing it, but if we can do it through a negotiated process, we're giving that a shot.

WTF STFU Donald!

No, to win their coming elections, they need to show Trump the finger now and refuse his wall, override his veto, and open the government. They'll have far less trouble with his effect on their political futures from here on out if they do that.

That would require the Rethugs to take decisive action on their own ... Highly unlikely for those pussies.

Yeah, but it's really up to them to engage in some form of survival attempt. It's right there for them to grasp and, Americans being fickle and shortsighted, the Repugs probably could bounce right back.

Here is how Trump could be driven from office in the next ten months

Ten More Months? Can the Country survive? Will the Special Council be fired? Does the White House still record the Prez's phone calls? Will Trump fade away gracefully, or will he have to be frog marched away in chains?

I've told friends that the over/under is Labor Day. The Stormy Daniels types of things aren't going to bring him down. Unless there is real proof of a connection between him personally and the Russia computer crimes, that won't get him either. But all of the various investigations very well could turn up what he is really worried about - and that is his finances. He's funny, because he tells you what he's afraid about, and that was it from the beginning of Mueller.

Assuming that he's got real problems there, McConnell one day will go to him and tell him that the Senate won't protect him on an impeachment vote. If he resigns now, he can get a pardon from Pence.

The R's are okay with Pence. They got their corporate tax break, and that won't change with a divided Congress. Same with military spending. They are getting massive regulations reduction. Essentially, they don't need Trump any more, and would be quite content with Pence. Trump is so toxic that surely the R political consultants are making this very case now.

Do you think that Pence would pardon Lumpy? Or, would he "let the Justice system run it's course," having faith in the American System of Law and Order?

Jake Tapper laughs in Mick Mulvaney’s face after he says nobody ‘blames the president’ for debasing politics

“President Trump obviously is not exactly known as a delicate flower when it comes to the language,” Tapper explained. “He’s sworn publicly quite a bit.”

“Does President Trump think that he’s played any role in the coarsening of our national discourse?” the CNN host asked Mulvaney.

“No, no,” Mulvaney insisted.

“You think he doesn’t?” Tapper pressed.

“I think people can be coarse as clearly this member of Congress is,” Mulvaney opined. “I don’t think anybody blames the president for the coarsening of the language.”

“You don’t think anybody in the country blames the president?” Tapper laughed out loud.

“Well, you probably do,” Mulvaney admitted. “But I think there’s more important things.”

LOL to the MAX!:D

‘That’s a lot of questions’: Sarah Sanders wilts as Fox host grills her for lying about terrorists on border

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was grilled by Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday over the accuracy of the administration’s talking points about President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Sanders asserted that “roughly 4,000 known or suspected terrorist come into our country illegally and we know that our most vulnerable point of entry is at our southern border.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Wallace interrupted. “I know this statistic. I didn’t know you were going to use it, but I studied up on this. Do you know where those 4,000 people — where they are captured? Airports!”

“Not always!” Sanders insisted.

“The State Department says there hasn’t been any terrorists that they’ve found coming across the southern border,” Wallace pointed out.

Reality is a bitch, ain't it?:D

Pelosi gave Trump the ‘middle finger’ by only sending aides to meet with his negotiation team: CNN panelist

During a panel discussion on Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her new power as House Speaker again, a CNN panelist noted that the Democratic leader appears to be showing up Donald Trump whenever she can.

Addressing a budget negotiation meeting helmed by Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday, attended by senior White House officials including Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and Trump adviser Jared Kushner, it was pointed out that Pelosi only sent some aides.

Politico political analyst Eliana Johnson jumped in to point out what she took away from the meeting that reportedly went nowhere.

“I’d add one point to that dynamic played out yesterday when Trump, his delegation that he sent to negotiate over the shutdown was the vice president of the United States and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner,” she observed. “Nancy Pelosi sent two aides and a former administration official said this is a case study of the new dynamic where she basically gave him the middle finger.”

“I’m not sure the president picked up on that,” she added to laughter from the panel as another CNN contributor quipped off-camera, “He will today.”

:D

Conservative pundit lashes GOP for standing by while Trump makes them irrelevant with national emergency threat

According to conservative Jennifer Rubin, Republican lawmakers are allowing themselves to be turned into non-entities by President Donald Trump with his threats to go ahead and toss out budget negotiations and proclaim a national emergency to get his border wall built.

Writing in the Washington Post, Rubin called the idea that there is a true emergency impacting the country preposterous.

“If there is an emergency, it is one caused entirely by Trump’s ignorance, hysteria and vanity,” she accused.

Rubin then attacked her own party.

“That Trump would even suggest such an unconstitutional move tells us a lot about his B-team administration (more like D-team) and the state of the Republican Party,” she wrote before ridiculing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

“Fast-forward to 2019, when Republicans now defend Trump or mutely stand by as he makes grand pronouncements of unlimited power. Republicans’ passivity underscores their constitutional illiteracy and lack of will to carry out their own oaths of office,” Rubin predicted. “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) better get back to claim his job before the president erases Article I from the Constitution.”

:D

Mitch is making his position untenable. Either act like a responsible Senator or GTFO!:(

‘We’ll give them steel’: Trump explains how he would declare a ‘national emergency’ to build border wall

President Donald Trump on Sunday indicated that he is moving closer to declaring a “national emergency” in order to build a wall on the Mexico border.

After returning from Camp David on Sunday, Trump explained his thinking to reporters.

“We’re looking at a national emergency because we have a national emergency,” he said, according to CBS correspondent Mark Knoller.

Congress should do something about this EMERGENCY!

Impeach his ass now before he starts a War with.... whoever his pissed with.

Harvard law professor concludes the only true national emergency is Donald Trump

“He says we have a national crisis, a national security crisis,” he continued. “A national emergency. I agree we have a national emergency, but the emergency is this president. The emergency is the fact we don’t have an executive who’s exercising his power in a responsible way. So, if he calls this national security, and he invokes the powers that have been granted under these statutes according to national security then there has to be a process to check him, and that process takes time.”

Resist, Impeach Convict and Execute!

Trump wants to interrupt prime time TV on Tuesday to argue for his border wall

President Donald Trump plans to travel to the Southwest border Thursday.

According to The New York Times, the president also wants to address the nation Tuesday—interrupting prime time programming—to directly make his case for a border wall ahead of his visit.

Networks should demand to see Trump’s speech in advance — and refuse to air it if it’s filled with lies: CNN analyst

CNN analyst Joe Lockhart, who previously served as White House press secretary under former President Bill Clinton, said on Monday that networks should refuse to air President Donald Trump’s planned prime-time address to the nation if it’s filled with lies.

Given the way the Trump administration has been willing to push easily refutable lies in its efforts to sell Americans on the necessity of building the border wall, Lockhart said that networks owed it to their viewers to make sure that the president doesn’t peddle these kinds of lies in an address to the nation where no one would be able to correct him in real time.

Or make him buy some ad time for his Golf Courses and Hotels?

Trump Sits On A WALL OF LIES!

We need WALL to protect us from SKEERY TERRORISTS! Or maybe we just need a memory device for a senile old idiot who can't remember his lines when he's whipping the pitchfork mob into a xenophobic frenzy. Yeah, it's probably that one. This weekend saw a wild collection of whoppers from the White House as the Trump Brain Trust dreamed up increasingly fantastical lies to justify the shutdown over WALLBUX. Let's run 'em down quick before the bastards barf out any more.

Much as I love Wonkette, they won't let me snip their photos for the Cartoon Thread, so read Five Dollar Feminist’s whole peice.:)

Jared Kushner’s company is ‘choking’ New York tenants with lead dust ‘invasion’:

Tenants in buildings owned by Jared Kushner and other “predatory” NYC landlords are subjected to increasingly dangerous levels of lead dust — and describe the toxic clouds as an “invasion.”

Gothamist reported Monday that a five-year investigation by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene found that lead levels in a number of East Village-area buildings were four to 440 times higher than EPA standards suggest.

Let us hope it doesn't take five years for Bob to find Felonious' guilt!
