Susan Rice Email Debunks the “Obamagate” Conspiracy Theory

Well, I guess we can close the file on that one. Yesterday the Keystone Spooks leading the Trump intelligence regime fully declassified the “mysterious” Susan Rice email that was at the heart of their absurd conspiracy to charge former president Obama and Vice President Biden with espionage. The email had been written by Rice to herself to memorialize a meeting with President Obama’s national security team about Gen. Michael Flynn’s contacts with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

Trump Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell had previously released a redacted email that left dangling the possibility that President Obama might have directed national security officials to refrain from sharing classified information pertaining to the Russia investigation with Flynn.

This was a dodgy supposition since (a) the partially redacted email included two references to Obama telling officials that the investigation should be undertaken “by the book” and (b) Flynn was a Turkish asset who took undisclosed cash payments from RT, and was having back-channel conversations with the country that had just executed a cyberattack on our elections. It’s not entirely clear that withholding information from him about said country would’ve been inappropriate even if it did happen.

(Comey) added that he has no indication thus far that Flynn has passed classified information to Kislyak, but he noted that ‘the level of communication is unusual.’ The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would.​

So . . . the note that had been used to advance the idea that Obama was hiding info from—and even spying on!—Flynn has a line in it that indicates specifically that the president did not want to change how his administration shared classified information with the incoming administration unless something were to change, at which point he would want another briefing. And there is no evidence that another such briefing took place.

Uh, yeah... that's not exactly correct. Let's do a partial timeline of the problem here:

On Dec 28th Flynn had a phone call with Kislyak. The call wasn't masked like it should have been (which is an actionable claim in itself). Somehow in the next 9 days Obama learned of the call and had Comey and the acting head of the DOJ stay after the briefing on Jan 5th. (How did Obama learn of the call contents?)

Comey said... yada yada yada... after the briefing which indicates he had to basis for capturing the call and not masking Flynn's name. It wasn't ever discussed how or who leaked Flynn's name to the media. (Now ain't that weird all things considered...) What was discussed was the concept of not sharing classified National Security information with the incoming administration. They were going to hold back critical information even though there was, according to Comey, no reason to do this.

After the briefing, 39 (?) people suddenly felt a need to put in unmasking requests for that call transcript. You know, a transcript which wasn't masked in the first place and which at that point was ONLY KNOWN TO OBAMA, COMEY, and what's her name at the DOJ. (Now ain't it weird that suddenly 39(?) people know about it?) We don't know the reason why the unmasking requests were made but I suspect that the second aide to the undersecretary to the ambassador of clean urinals at the US embassy water closet in Antarctica didn't really need to know.

After the briefing of Jan 5, the FBI recommended that the file be closed. Strozk intervened and kept the file open. After that, Comey sent 2 FBI agents into the WH without going through the proper channels on what we now know was a pretext. The DOJ learned of this while it was happening and did nothing to stop or recall the agents.

On inauguration day, Susan Rice writes the memo to the file in which she outlines that everything was being done "by the book" even though we now know it wasn't. That memo was classified even though now that it's been declassified we can see that there wasn't any real reason to classify it in the first place unless someone wanted to hide the fact that Comey stated categorically that he had no basis to predicate an investigation on. Yet he went forward with an investigation anyway. And we know that Obama KNEW about it, KNEW there was no basis for it, and didn't stop it.

Yesterday Rice made a statement through her spokesperson that she wrote the memo because WH counsel told her to. She's the one who classified it in order to prevent it from being seen.


Those are facts. The idea that the linky in the OP is trying to create is that the memo isn't a smoking gun that indicates that Obama was hiding information from the Trump administration is TDS based spin. The facts and timeline revealed by the memo show otherwise. Rice fucked herself and the Obama Administration by writing the memo because without it we wouldn't have ever had proof that Obama KNEW. And did nothing to stop the rogue investigation while allowing the incoming admin to flounder because they were intentionally keeping vital information from them. That's political sabotage at best, a seditious conspiracy at worst.
