Signs of Female Arousal (And some myths)

oh dear me

no one has time for this shit, just lean over and tell the person you are horny

...or for the guy or girl coming from the other point of view in the hypothetical encounter, insist she articulate her arousal.

If she isn't aroused, she can't or won't articulate convincingly. Having to articulate can be arousing for some. A woman articulating her sexual desire is sexy.

All of the signals available to other mammals are there, but as humans, use your words.

I would think so but I have heard from countless males that women often don't do this. Have also heard that the women they were with just laid there and did nothing. I confused some of the guys I was with because they'd never been with a woman who took an active role in bed.

Then the guy is doing it wrong or dating a mute. I've never found it hard to get women to engage verbally outside of the bedroom so why would it be different in the bedroom?

Straw feminism?

I think I remember Germaine Greer saying that she really can't be bothered with sex—though she was post-menopausal when she said that—FWIW.

I can't tell for sure what another's emotions are, unless they are very obvious. If I, say, watch porn, I'm going to assume she's not aroused. I'm sure the laughter in the tickling videos is real enough as well as cries in the odd BDSM ones I see, but sexual arousal? I'm not sure.

As for rape, no of course means no, but presumably a woman can have sex even if not aroused, nor is it necessarily rape. Quid quo pro: he does her favours, she gives him the sex—consensually, of course—complete with fake arousal and orgasms.

Maybe take it from one woman here:

lovecraft68

"And let's face it the majority of the men here have never aroused a woman other than to pay them an extra hundred to moan louder."

I thought lovecraft68 was a guy?

I have to point out that Andrea Dworkin was talking about the porn industry in 1979. I can't believe I actually have to point this out, but you remember the porn from the late 70s, to early 80s? Behind the Green Door, anyone?

Okay, this is the portrayal of the Black Man from that movie.

Also, some men, specifically the men in the 70s, and 80s porn industry. Nowadays, we have the wild unbelievable success of a Twilight Fanfic.

Progress. History isn't something that happened, it's something you actively participate in, or you ignore. Now, did she exaggerate quite a bit?

Was she wrong? Well, I also have to point out that she's a woman, talking openly about pornography.

I'm ignant.

My default is that to not only assume she's not aroused, but even if she says she is, there's a decent chance she's not.

I kind of had an argument with KimGordon67—I might post it here later—where I was arguing that at least according to some feminists I've heard or read a bit, women aren't really into sex—at least PIV sex—it's a male thing.

First, there's the possible evolutionary thing: men do it, women take it; that I've heard that women are more into chocolates, rubs, hopes of devoted partners, maybe Sex in the City episodes. If women enjoy sex, men really needn't be part of it—they have their toys, themselves, and for the more liberated, each other.

I read somewhere that women can't write erotica, not stuff they like at any rate, because they tailor such for an audience in our heterosexist patriarchal society.

This despite the fact that the best stuff I read here in Literotica—at least the several stories—was from a woman—albeit from a male POV.

The Liberation of Kate: 5 Part Series
https://www.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=2976261&page=submissions

I certainly liked it, but then again she might have been tailoring to people like me, a privileged white cishet male.

Where does that leave my writings?

Women as not particularly aroused and things like two naked snarky lesbians:

More like what did Marlene and Nisha said!

Good grief ... *eyeroll*. What are you actually trying to say?

'Straw feminism' because you're setting up a myth of what feminism is/says so you can argue against it. The vast majority of actual feminists are all for women enjoying sex. Don't think that Greer speaks for all, or even most, of us.

I'm pretty sure Lovecraft is a bloke.

He's so conservative, he's still arguing with feminist talking points from a quarter of a century ago.

The porn industry has changed. Now we have erotic sites, where women can get involved in producing it. If you look around the internet, you might even be able to find one.

To bully women into stopping. because Feminism. It's fairly obvious that you're here, to remind us exactly why we need feminism. So, thanks for that, as if we had forgotten.

This is an awfully ambitious thread for a guy to start.
Discuss...

LOL! Right, sorry. I forgot I was guy for a moment there! Whoo! Thank god you're here, WoundedKnee. Someone could have learned something.

God forbid someone talk about sex here. Or a "Guy" (Guyl, actually) actually know what an aroused female looks like.

I don't know. I'm very verbal no matter where I am.

Okay, thanks for the link, but. Could you point to any story in particular for example? I'm not complaining, there's a lot there, and that's an example itself, but that's a Lot of reading to prove a point. Any suggestion to narrow it down?

Okay, sense weave reached a con-scents-us, (If not the Climax) in this discussion, can we discuss ways to describe a woman's feminine musk, other than the trite, and true feminine musk? That was the original intent here, I mostly put it on GB to have something to field other than arguments starting with "You think..."

Sorry, still a little bitter. So anyway, one of the most difficult senses to put into words is olfactory. So, any suggestions?

(Also, sorry about all those puns.)

Describe it? To me it does not smell like bananas or used motor oil. It is primal, it appeals to the caveman in me. The fish that will fight its way upstream to plant seed and die. Nature is cruel, perfect, and puzzling.

For me it is the breathing. Her and I. The breath is not forced out, is slips out of the lungs moist and hot. There is a silent moan hidden inside, possible a low growl. Her neck goes back. I desire skin.

I know I have jammed together female and male arousal. The horny salmon without a river is nothing.

Thank you. That was great, and exactly what I asked for. "Not like bananas or used motor oil" came off a little random, and distracting, but that's a different literary technique. At the beginning, it can be offputting, but definitely different from the same descriptions we've all{*} read too many times.

{*You know, the ones that are actually part of this conversation, instead of offended that it's even being discussed.}

As for the wetness, I can only speak for me but I can indeed get wet instantly. Like if a guy whispers something dirty into my ear or even the sound of a certain guy's voice or the scent of a certain cologne. And yes, it can drip down my legs. Now granted, the wetness was much more profuse from the start when I was younger. Might take a while for it to drip but it sure will! I am also easily orgasmic.

As for thinking people can smell it, I often think they can. Now maybe in reality they can't. But when I get turned on enough, I just feel like nothing but pussy with breasts coming in second. But the feeling and the scent of my pussy will overwhelm me and perhaps I am hyper focused on that.

As for porn, I hate it when I can see that the woman isn't the slightest bit wet and yet she is acting like she is highly aroused.

This.

Guyl is new to me. Is that your preferred pronoun?

he is, but occasionally he likes to pretend he isn't. he also used to pretend he was his own cousin back in the day as a way to get away with being a racist douche. he gave up on that one awhile back.

How exactly does being male eliminate the possibility of smelling pussy? That must come as a shock to Multiple Miggs among others. I mean, even Incels believe they can smell that. (They just chase it away.)

I already quoted Rule #16 of the Internet. We covered that, and if you'd done the reading, you'd know that.

It fucks w/our senses. As in we don't have much sense.

Right, which means they existed, and were well known by 1979. Funny how that works, we can assume she wasn't talking about Peter North yet...

Progress. It's not just a Russian space tug.

Exactly like men are still arguing with feminist talking points from a quarter of a century ago, instead of learning what an aroused woman looks like from porn.
