Question about links or references to a different porn site

I have a friend who is interested in writing on Literotica and she was asking me questions, a couple which I had no answer for. The quick research I've done says no to in the actual story but nothing about comments or a reference to it in an author's note or bio.

1. Is she allowed to insert links to manyvids in any capacity? She'd like to know if she could leave comments on her story or in her bio with a link letting people know that if they want to support her directly, that they could subscribe to her there or buy some videos.

2. Is she allowed to leave an author's note in the story such as "Thank you for reading! If you enjoyed my story, please consider following me on Literotica for more and if you want to support me directly, you can find me on Manyvids by the same name!".

Thank you in advance for the answers, I didn't have one for her.

I don't think so. Definitely no links in the story as the site doesn't want to have to police external content (or have readers siphoned off.) I don't think she can even self promote in an authors note.

I think she can put those links in her profile and say check out my profile in her stories.

I made it clear she wasn't going to do it in the story. I said a comment on the story.

Sorry, by not in the story I meant not in the posted text that makes up the story (e.g. including an authors note.) Others maybe able to clarify more, but I think the most she can say is 'Check out my profile' not 'There are video links in my profile.'

I didn't say either one of those. My exact words were, "If you'd like to support me directly, check out my bio on my profile!"

I am very careful with how I am wording things to avoid confusion but apparently that's not enough.

However, teaser stories on Lit (that is, a first chapter only) aren't allowed.

In short, the site doesn't want itself to be used for promoting content elsewhere. A comment pointing to her bio page wouldn't get rejected, but it's not really in the spirit of the site.

I tend to be cautious about mentioning (not linking to) other sites in the forum. Maybe it's okay, but I still prefer to use a PM.

I haven't seen the mention of websites within stories being enforced as long as it isn't an actual URL or other link to the site directly.

Amazon, Google, and HGTV, are some of the real-world websites I have seen mentioned in stories which characters interacted with. Of course, Literotica is frequently mentioned in stories here, and there are a slew of fictitious sites that pop up within stories.

I do not recall seeing an author note or similar at the beginning or end of a story that mentions something like "My stories are available on Amazon", and references such as that, even without a hyperlink, would certainly be violating the spirit of this site if not the rules themself.

A similar statement within the author's bio might be better received.

I had to pull out a reference to Tumblr, even though there was no link. I changed the text to read "art blog site" and it went through on the second go.

I would have challenged that.

You basically named a business entity which is no different than using Denny's or Waffle House in a story. It's done all the time here.

Quicker to change the three words. It made no difference to the story.

It was a few years back, when Tumblr was new on the scene. It would probably go through today, especially since Tumblr is disappearing up its own fundamental and isn't stealing patrons from anybody.

So far you can only link to some amazon, patreon or smashwords using that I think
