I understand that everyone has different tastes and I'm not trying to provoke an argument. There are definitely genres that I like that others might not. I truly just want to learn.
Can someone explain the appeal of 'bully' stories?
I truly don't get it. The protagonist is bullied, the bully gets with the protagonists mother or other loved one's, the loved one often berates or humiliates the protagonist and in the end, the protagonist loses.
I'm at a loss for how that could be appealing to any reader. And that's cool. I don't have to have the same interests as someone else, but I'd at least like to have some sort of understanding.
(all responses will be respected, seriously not looking for an argument)
Thanks!
