Sadie had spent that last few hours after school tutoring a few classmates. One boy in particular was giving her trouble. Unfocused and constantly undermining her intelligence, questioning if her methods were truly the correct ones. It was infuriating. And then there was the creepy touching. The boy kept playing with her hair and the looks he gave her made her stomach churn.
Her long golden blond hair was down but usually tied with a thin pink ribbon. Her hair stopped right at her hip. Her mother always tried to encourage her to cut it short, but she preferred it long. Thanks to that boy now, her normal ribbon was gone. Said he would return it when he got an A on his next test. God that shit was cocky.
Upon entering her house, the first thing that she noticed was the smell. Someone had been baking! Not just anything, but she smelled chocolate chips. Wasn't their parents gone for the week? After dropping off her bag she went into the kitchen, but found that there were no cookies. Not even any dirty pans! She narrowed her eyes.
Her brother must have made some and then tried to clean up the evidence. She hadn't forgotten the last time she made cheesecake, nearly half of it went missing! and that was for her class party. Well, if the cookies were still here, there was no way she was going to pass at least having one.
After confirming that the much sought after cookies were not within the kitchen, there was only one other place to look. She headed upstairs and to a room she knew fairly well. Upon opening her brother's bedroom door, the scent of cookies was even heavier. They were definitely in here! She searched a bit... found a few magazines she knew she probably shouldn't have found.
Soon she found what she was looking for! Taking the cellophane wrap off of the plate of golden chocolate chip cookies, Sadie picked one up from the plate and bit into it.... It was delicious! The taste was incredible and she could hardly believe that these were made by her own brother.
