Unusual turn-ons.

guys in suites turn me on, and so guys with old cars.

Then we are going to get on very well indeed, dear lady. I am rarely out of a suit, and my convertible is venerable indeed (although sadly not really vintage).

what type of car is it? I suppose I should have specified American. older than 78. has to be carbureted. nothing like the smell of a carb

You're right - we haven't really evolved too far from that old cliche of the girl in glasses and her hair in a bun who shakes it out, takes off the specs and suddenly is beautiful.

Think of the girl everyone tries to make-over in Clueless, or the actress in Ugly Betty. Even girls playing 'ugly' have to be at least pretty, if not downright gorgeous. English sitcoms seem to be more realistic than American ones (look at the cast of Friends versus the cast of the original Office, for example), but even then it is only the men who can get away with being properly unattractive.

Maybe this needs to be a new campaign - Unattractive women in film and TV!

Yes, unattractive in a conventional way, but sexy because they have that something that makes them hot...like Steve Buscemi, who I think is hot. I'm sure I'm not the only woman who thinks that.

Ah, no. I wouldn't drive an old American car in England, because we have corners.

Ah well. Another beautiful friendship bites the dust... :)

I completely agree, and there are so many other men, even as a straight man, who I can see have something but aren't conventionally good-looking. The late, great James Gandolfini; Christopher Walken...

I have a weakness for men with goatees. Not scraggly ones but there's just something about the feel of trimmed hair on my face, on my fingers and else where on my body. ;)

I had a lover who sweated profusely during sex. It startled me at first but quickly I grew to love it. Feeling his weight on me with drops of sweat dripping on me became such a turn on. I would run my hand over his hairline and the sweat would just fly. I'm not sure why it was so erotic but for me it was and still is.. Maybe part of it was the need for a playful shower afterward. :rose:

Now, you see, that is so sexy. Not the image itself - at least not for me - but your sharing of it, and your openness about such an unusual thing turning you on. Thank you.

I saw that years ago on a Discovery channel program. It seems it works. It showed that people were often attracted most to pheromones that were the least like their own family's scent.

Yes, scientifically it makes complete sense in terms of exogamous partnering.

It's just it also rather tramples in great hobnailed boots all over the twitching corpse of Romance...

oh so it isn't that old. I had a cabrio once. I don't like to talk about that one....so you have a problem with American muscle? even though I bet a maverick could take a turn just as well as your golf?

Was going to say Gandolfina and Walken. Walken is very sexy. Damn. He really is. I used to find Christopher Lloyd sexy too. Jim in the show Taxi.

Popping in....intrigued by peoples answers. I have a thing for the solo male. Being comfortable in his aloness. At coffee shops...at the park....
If they're writing...good old pen and paper...it's like i have an involuntary reaction to them.

Romance is harder than sex.
Edward Rochester from Jane Eyre. Now there is a romantic story and two unconventional people who are very much alive in my imagination. Not the movie versions, but the novel.

I know what you mean. They brood.
And again...not an unconventional female mentioned.

Very interesting, Ruby, thank you. I can imagine that there is something about the self-contained nature of that - the man who isn't emotionally needy, but happy in his own company.

You should come and live in my part of the world - full of writers and wannabe writers like me, striding across the hills armed only with a fountain pen, a leather-bound journal and a merry song on their lips.

And industrial quantities of alcohol, of course.

I have been in your part of the world (sort of). The appeal of the area is still deep in my fibres.

Armpit hair - maybe it's all the German porn I was exposed to as a squaddie in BAOR but I do find it rather sexy.

I remember reading somewhere that looking a womans armpit hair was like looking at her pubic hair. Since reading this I have found myself visualising this whenever I see a woman who doesnt shave there..........not so common in the West but definitely quite common in Asia.

Delighted (sic) to hear it. I have ventured to yours, too, or at least for a few weeks to Nova Scotia. Stunning, and charmingly underpopulated - just the place to recharge the batteries.

Arguing. Nothing makes me want to fuck my girl more than after a fight.

It's also interesting that if it's framed to exclude contextual clues e.g pendants or waistbands, that sort of thing - then bum cleavage is indistinguishable from boob cleavage.

Also I realise that this doesn't really count in the context of this thread, not being especially uncommon, but pubic hair -I kind of miss that with the fashion for naked pudenda being what it is. I just love the crinkly feel of pubes on my cheek prior to a game of I lick, you scream [a charming expression I nicked from Tibor Fischer]

Something that was vitally needed before the coming of the railways when most people married within a 5-mile radius.

But isn't it a little bit romantic that two people can be drawn together by something they can't resist? And when it comes down to it, sex is simply a biological process anyway.

Can pheromones permeate the internet, by the way?

I suspect the biggest problem, with UK petrol prices, is being able to afford to fill it up.

Oh my, armpit hair is quite a turn on for some odd reason. A Korean girl I took a photo of with 35mm when I was young had hairy pits. At a Singapore bird park a girl raised her arms at a show and had hairy pits. I have no idea why it turns me on. But it does. Asian persuasion lol. My Japanese wife refuses to go unshaved. My Filipino gf well go a few days unshaved.
