Mortal name: Jerome Manning
Celestial name: Enumael
Player: Ravenloft

courtney-b-vance.jpg

Celestial house: Devils; The former "nobility" of Heaven, charged with seeing that the divine plan was carried out. Now they are master manipulators and deceivers.

Faction: Faustians who believe that harnessing the power of human faith is the best way to go about changing the world (and making it their own, in many cases). As their name implies, they often do this through demonic pacts with mortals.

Age: 47
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 220 lbs

Background:
Jerome had the perfect life, a loving wife, a job he loved, and a child on the way. But things would not remain perfect for long... He lost his pregnant wife during child birth. She died from complications, but their daughter survived. Jerome did his best to raise his daughter alone, keeping the grief and anger he felt walled away from her. His daughter, Maya, began expressing feelings that she 'didn't belong' from a very early age, how she 'never should have been.' Nothing Jerome could say or do seemed to reach her and bring her around to feeling different. He was alert to her behavior, seeing all the signs that she would try to commit suicide, and was there to save her the first time she tried.

He moved way from the house he'd bought for his dead wife after that first time, hoping that getting away from the place where all the pain in their lives seemed to be rooted would help Maya. He got the head psychiatrist position at Bishops Gate, and enrolled Maya in school and moved into a new home. Things seemed okay for the first several months, but Jerome kept a close eye on Maya, catching her with a bottle of sleeping pills and a fifth of vodka.

He knew he couldn't leave her alone after that, and had her placed in Bishops Gate, where he could keep her safe. Years passed and it seemed that Maya made slow progress, but progress none the less as she approached the age of 18. Dispite all his misgivings, Jerome began to believe Maya was indeed comming round...

She appeared happy, and would talk optimistically about the future, something she had never done before, in those last few visits he had with her... So he began to let his guard down, and allowed her more and more freedom, and on her 18th, he would sign the papers to have her set free. All the other employees began holding her up as a shining symbol of hope for all the rest of the inmates, and even went so far as to plan a large party in her honor.

Tragedy struck Jerome's life for the second time the day after Maya's 18th birthday, the day after her party. She was found dead in her room, she'd hung herself. No one knew where she'd gotten the rope. Jerome broke down and was put on payed leave to grieve. The walls he'd built up all those years ago crumbled and without any close friends to keep an eye on him, Jerome tried to follow Maya into death.

That was what drew Enumael to him, like a moth to a flame. Enumael took posession of the body from which Jerome fled. The man's soul passed on, but the flesh and blood he left behind contained the echoes of his life, and pain, which melded with Enumael's own. It took Enumael several hours to expell the pills which Jerome had used to flee and adjust to wearing a physical form...

Carefully searching the home of Jerome Manning, Enumael found documents pertaining to the man's work. This intregued Enumael, and he spent the remaining leave time Jerome had studying them. No wonder he was drawn to Manning, this was the perfect place for him. A place where he could work closely with such fragile things... If he were careful, he could very likely draw some of them under his wing. Help them fight away their torment and nurture their dying faith... In him of course.

Background.

Maya’s mother had died during child birth. Complications; the baby had its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck which had led to an emergency caesarian section, an omen perhaps of what would follow. The beautiful fair skinned child had been placed upon its mother’s belly presenting an exquisite contrast of gentle pink tones against rich burnished darkness. Weakened her hemorrhaging mother had stared in horror at the flesh of her flesh, knowing that she had never strayed from her husbands bed. Her startled eyes sought out Jerome’s bewildered ones and her heart simply stopped beating. This shock on top of all of the blood she was rapidly losing from her herniating placenta was simply too much for this fragile women’s heart there was no saving her.

Maya was Jerome’s child paternity tests had proven that fact beyond a doubt but sadly her mother would never know for she had fled into the Abyss almost mad from her despair.

Jerome adored his only daughter and their first three years together could have been something out of a story book his precious daughter was outgoing and vivacious. Then as all children do there comes a time when they begin to notice the world around them and the nature of the people in it; she began to comprehend she was not the same as her father for he was brown skinned she was not. The seed of doubt was planted and began to flourish fueled by her father’s evasive answers to her many questions.

Slowly as she grew Maya began expressing feelings that she didn't belong that she should never should have been born. The climax came when she found a picture of her mother hidden in the false bottom of the beloved musical box which had been a legacy of her beloved mother. As Maya stared at the unfamiliar picture she could find no resemblance to herself at all; something fundamental died inside the young girl on that fateful day. It was shortly after that that she attempted her first suicide.

Her father transferred his daughter to Bishop’s gate thinking that keeping her close was his only answer. Maya did seem to improve; distracted by the other inmates whose pain she felt even more than her own. She was to spend her formative years within it's walls loved and adored by the inmates and staff alike.

Things changed as she approached 18 and was told by her loving father that she was ready to finally return home. The poor man was oblivious to her real state of mind his professional awareness clouded by his love for his only daughter who he never really understood. He blithely planned her birthday party he even had a beautiful grown up dress, a delightful pink concoction, made especially for her special night.

Maya gave her father that one evening dancing with him with gay abandon, the huge hall reminded her of the miniature scene from her dead mothers music box, even down to an orderly all tuxedo-ed up playing the piano.

The festive evening ended and Maya returned to her room where she carefully retrieved the thick noose she had spent the best part of the past 3 months painstakingly making. Dragging her dresser stool into the middle of the room she climbed on and affixed the heavy rope to the ceiling. Climbing back down she returned to her dresser and stared at her reflection in the antique mirror, she would find her mother she would have her answers.

Removing the picture of her mother still hidden on the underside of her music box she popped it against the glass. Smiling she choose a resin disc, a favorite childhood tune of hers; it reminded her that even in the darkness of her small world there had always been hope that one day she would find the light, find her mother, tonight she finally would. Maya placed the disc on the mechanism and lowered the arm.

The overly calm girl undid the locket that her father had given her for her birthday from around her neck opening it to gaze upon his likeness one last time. “I never belonged in this world Papa. I love you, please try and understand.” Maya flipped the switch on her music box and the gentle music floated all around her bathing her in serenity. She glanced into the mirror a final time smiling at the young girl reflected there, she still had the innocent face of an angel though that was not how Maya saw herself, at all she saw a lost and lonely child one who was simply out of place in the world she had been trapped since birth.

Clutching the locket in one hand she turned and climbed up on the silently waiting stool carefully placing the noose around her neck. Ironically this was the way she had entered the world and it was somehow fitting that this would be how she would finally escape its confines.

Maya was still smiling as she stepped off the small stool.

The haunting strains of Au Clair de la Lune floated around her like a soft cocoon as she struggled to take her last breath on this earth…

[[Side note: Jerome turned her room at Bishops gate into a shrine leaving it exactly as it was on that fateful night even to leaving the noose hanging from the rafters, a potent reminder of his failure and guilt. The room would later be thought to be possessed of something evil judging by the unnatural goings on within its walls.]]

Governing Passions.

Positive passions
: Her deep LOVE for her father. EMPATHY for the plight of others. he deep routed need to PROTECT and NURTURE others. (never herself)

Negative passion: Active intense dislike for Enumael who had stolen her father’s body which I am thinking will turn to hate/revenge as she sees what he plans for her beloved friends the inmates.

Driving Passion.

Her driving passion in life was the fact that she felt she did not belong, which drove her need to follow her mother into death.

She had fled into the shadowlands with the aim of finding her mother. It was the love of her father and her need to protect him that kept her there, unfortunately before she could actively return to the skinlands she bore witness to Jerome"s own suicide and another (Enumael) possession of his earthly body. She watched this through the shroud impotent and unable to prevent its happening. Her driving passion in death became to set her fathers body free from the Demon that held it captive.

Minor passions

-Help the inmates withstand Enumael’s influence

-Figure out who the unusual inmates are and if she can help them or them her.

-To mess with the one who possessed her father’s body.

-Revenge on the one who possessed her father’s body (her shadow will push for this)

-The young untried woman /child would secretly love to feel the embrace of a man other than her father.

- She would like to experience loves first kiss.

- Retrieve the photo of her mother that she had left behind, it was the only thing her father removed from her bedroom and hid somewhere.

Fetters.

Primary fetter: Her father (after his death his essence remained strong despite Emumael's possession.)

Secondary fetters.

1] Antique musical box that had belonged to her mother’s which still rests on her dresser in her old room at Bishops Gate

crosley_bk310_5.jpg\

2] The swing her father made her located in the bishop gate grounds.

3] The Piano on which she took her lessons located in the main hall where her birthday party had taken place.

Piano.jpg

Relic.

Rosegoldlocketopenwithchain.jpg

As well had her party clothing she retained the gold locket containing her father’s picture that was clutched in her hand when she killed herself.

Her Shadow side.

I want to develop her Shadow as we go along. I love the idea that Maya’s 'light side’ wants to continue existing while her shadow will subtly offer her help in times of need feeding off her growing hate for Enumael thereby acquiring power, until it can take over and try to make Maya destroy herself. It in effect is emulating the struggle that she had when she was a member of the living. I would love to explore this further during our tale.

I may write her Shadow myself or ask another more experienced cast member with a compatible writing style to mine to help by writing it. If I do explore this I am assuming her shadow has its own sets of stats ect?

Maya's Mentor.

Upon awakening in the shadowlands she had been freed by the shadowy figure of an old man named Umbrel, it was he who had mentored and protected her during her awakening. It was to him whom she would return to for advice and guidance in the days to come. ( We may never know who he Truly is and neither does Maya I shall play with this concept as we go along if I may.)

Who she is now?

Maya is still very much the caregiver with many aspects of the child who never truly became a woman buried within her psyche.

Special cases

Name~ Margaret "Maggie" Johnston
Player: Luna_Wolf72
Clan: Malkavian ghoul and blood doll.
Age~ 20
Height~ 5' 4"
Weight~ 135 lbs

Physical Description~Maggie is of mixed ethnicity and her features show that. She is a gorgeous shade of caramel with coal black, waist length hair. Her features have a sort of Asian/Indian cast though her lips are rather full and mobile, much like her mother's~who was black. She is very curvy with wide gray eyes.

Background

Once upon a time there was a young girl. This young girl was small, lithe, a quick thinker. This didn't stop the bad thing from happening to her, though. It never stopped the bad thing from happening to her. And that bad thing happened so very much, so very often, that the young girl began to think of herself as two very distinct people.

There was Margaret~the bad one, the one who invited these things by being so utterly dirty. (She never could figure out how being built like her mother at a young age was her fault but HE said it was...and so it must be true.) Margaret was a slut, a whore. Something that needed to be used and mistreated.

Maggie though, Maggie was the good one. She fought him, all the time. She KNEW he was dirty and a pervert and it was Maggie who first found their special friend. The Angel that promised to keep the good (and bad) pair safe.

It took a few years, but eventually, HE left them alone. By then Maggie knew what her Angel was. She knew what she was. A Vampire. The thirst was undeniable. And when she finally killed HIM....well, she ended up...

HERE.

In Bishop's Gate.

And now she sees colors, sometimes. Now she is really strong...like when they try to make her do something she doesn't want, sometimes. Now she gets hints of things she shouldn't know, sometimes.

She fits here.

Random notes for Usage later
For now, I am writing Maggie as a Ghoul...and giving her points accordingly (6/4/3)
This is the count~ including the initial free point on each Attribute.

Eloise (Claimed by Darkened Star.)
Name: Eloise Dupont

Age: 21

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 135 pounds

Background: Eloise's father was an extravagantly succesful businessman. She was never really that interested in what he did, but knew that he had fingers in a lot of pies, whether it was computing, retail, importation, exportation, property, he seemed to have been involved in everything, even arms, though his true fortune began in the wine business before he was bought out by Pentex, kept on as a senior partner in exchange for allowing them to modify the production process. The same was true for Eloise, perhaps it was just a reflection of her fathers personality, or some desperate childishly unsuccesful attempt to mimic him. While some teenagers have issues, when you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth those issues seem to be magnified.

She did everything possible to humiliate her father, resenting his attempts to control her and make her into a daughter he 'could be proud of.' She hosted massive parties in the mansion when he was away, her mother was even less capable of controlling her and drugs and alcohol were essentially free at such parties. She was the definition of a rebellious teenager. There was nothing he could do about it. Eventually he snapped, sending her away to a finishing school with a reputation for disciplining girls like Eloise. On her return it appeared for a few months like it had worked. Until her father discovered what she was really doing in her spare time.

She had joined a 'sex cult' the Cult of Ecstasy, engaging in massive orgies in various locations as well as fucking both male and female members of the cult at various times. She had well and truly gone off the rails, stealing from her mother and father, seemingly on the command of her cult leaders to finance the cults activities. It was also at some point during this that she came to realise just what her father had got himself into, though she has never revealed how she discovered it, she found out that his innocent 'business partners' were far more sinister, and what had started as rebellion became part of a greater purpose. Needless to say her father knew this had gone to far. He was engaged in numerous business deals and if news of this was to get out he would be completely humiliated, deals would disappear, creditors would call in debts, he would be ruined. She had to be removed from the equation, put out of the way. Bishops Gate was an ideal alternative.

Carlita (Claimed by La Reina)
Name: Carlita Benetti
Age: 20
Height: 5'6
Weight: 130lbs (mostly muscle)

Appearance:
rissipalmer6_v_e.jpg

Carlita doesn't remember 'before.' No, that's not accurate. She catches glimpses of what it was like before she started "attending" BGA. She remembers she has a family: mother, father, baby brother, older brother, but they don't visit so she doesn't know what has happened to them. Or if they were apart of her imagination. Carlita's not sure what is 'real' or not. The doctors keep her doped up, because she is violent and tends to be stronger than a girl her age, height, and weight should be. The drugs keeps her mostly controllable.

Carlita knows the truth. She's a monster inside. Sometimes she hates herself and just wants to end the monster. Especially when she starts to get immune or used to the drugs and she can't tell one reality from the other. She hates waking up and finding herself in a strange place or doing something and in a blink of an eye back at BGA. Other times. *smirks* Other times she wants to let the monster free. For honor. To fight. To protect, but protect what she's not sure. When she's feeling in her 'Free' mode no one is bullied around Carlita or she snaps to protect them. No matter if she likes that person or not.

Gifts:

Master of Fire (Homid Rank 1)
Once humans tamed fire to keep them warm and to drive off the wild beasts, they were on their way to civilisation. Werewolves with this Gift invoke humanity's ancient pact with the spirits of fire. The spirits of flame agree to hold back their hunger when the werewolf touches them. An ancestor spirit or fire spirit grants this Gift. (System: This Gift allows a werewolf to heal fire damage as if it were bashing. This requires the expenditure of a Gnosis point; the effects last a scene.)

Battlesense (Ahroun Rank 1)
The Garou can sense the best direction from which to make an attack, taking into account the terrain of the battlefield, the numbers and placement of the enemy and the available forces at the Garou's command or allied with her. (System: The player spends a point of Gnosis and becomes aware of the tactical forces involved in an impending battle. The Storyteller informs the player of the numbers and placement of opposing forces. The player can then use this information to her character's advantage.)

Moonshadow (Black Fury Rank 1 - Moon-Daughters)
By calling on their kinship with Luna, the Daughter may use a moonlight to smooth the way between worlds. The Fury may substitute moonlight for a mirror, making themselves one with the light itself. This Gift is taught by a Lune. (System: No roll is necessary to activate the Gift - the Fury may step sideways as if they stared into their reflection. In addition, the difficulty due to the Gauntlet is lowered by one.)

Jessica (Claimed by Darkened_Star)
Name: Jessica Marks

Age: 22

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 125 pounds

Appearance: Jessica is slim and tanned, with unblemished skin and long fair hair that falls partway down her back. She is beautiful but there is a coldness about it, a superiority that can intimidate the unprepared.

Previous Occupation: Actress

True Identity: Sidhe

History: Jessica was a child star, both her parents were actors and as such she had an early introduction in the business. She was often looked after by a nanny or maid on set, and when she reached 7 was allowed, after much complaints and protests to stay on for the taking of one scene. Much to the childs delight the director decided to keep that take in and while she herself had nothing to do with the scene, it made her happy to no end.

From there, you could say, she was determined to become an actress, though she didn't really take part in anything else until she was 12. She auditioned for, and recieved the starring part in her first real movie. From there, she was set. She could go nowhere but up. She moved on, starring in a succession of films before she was 18. But sometime during this period, the chrysalis happened, something awoke in Jessica, though to everyone else, even her parents, she merely blossomed into a talented, if somewhat precocious and feisty young star. She went from strength to strength, taking on ever more challenging roles, but when she turned 19 disaster struck.

Both of her parents died in a plane crash, people expected her to be distraught, and while she appeared upset, she refused to step down her schedule, working on a massive fantasy epic over the next two years. Then, when she turned 21, she snapped. Something in her just appeared to give up, to stop presenting a front and she began to believe that she was the character she played.

She determinedly shook off all psychiatrists and many said it was so firmly entrenched it was as though she had originally been an act, and that this new Jessica was a true identity. It was put down to work stress combined with a delayed grief response, and under the pressure she just cracked. She was transferred to Bishops Gate by her private psychiatrist and has been there ever since.

Realms:

Actor - Actor is the realm connected to all worldly beings, with a direct correlation to how well you know them. The less aquainted you are with a particular being, be it a werewolf, mortal, wraith, vampire, etc. (1 True Friend: The target must be a well known confidant, a buddy.)

Fae - This Realm is used to affect changelings, chimera, and things of Glamour. Ali'i, inuas, nanehi, ogres, satyrs, and trolls all share an Affinity with this Realm. (1 Hearty Commoner. This is used to affect non-titled Kithain.)

Prop - Prop is the control and manipulation of all created objects. Clothing, weapons, buildings, and anything else "created" falls under prop. The more complicated the device the more mastery of the Prop realm is required. (1 Ornate Garb: The target must be Objects commonly worn, including tattoos.)

Arts:

Ledgerdemain - The Art of illusion and telekinesis, this is another "commoner Art" but some nobles do use it.(1 Gimmix. This allows the caster to manipulate things telekinetically. A hand gesture that mimics the motion is a required part of the casting.)

Chicanery - Chicanery is the deceptive magical power of illusion and emotional manipulation. Those who practice it extensively are often considered somewhat untrustworthy by nobles, and few nobles will admit to using it. (1 Fuddle. This cantrip allows a changeling to confuse a target's perceptions, making them perhaps mistake one person for another, or night for day.)

Wayfare - The art of Wayfare deals with a changeling's ability to move through space. This involves bouncing and covering far distances, speeding forward on feet that move impossibly fast, and even teleporting from one place to another. (1 Hopscotch. This cantrip allows the subject to leap great heights or distances. If it is cast upon something that does not normally leap under its own power, the cantrip hurls it into the air.)

Karen (Claimed by Virgininneed.)
Name: Karen Brown
Age: 18
Height: Four foot ten
Weight: 100 pounds
Long auburn hair
Karen usually wears an old black leather jacket with a shirt, jeans and combat boots. When going somewhwere formal, however, she tends to wear something girly and flowy with her jacket.

Karen's parents were murdered when she was a child, so she was raised by her aunt and uncle, who didn't believe in anything they couldn't see oe touch. They were detremined to raise her as a normal child, but in her early teens, it became clear she wasn't. She'd been moved from place to place to find a cure for her so called insanity.

Karen had no idea what was happening to her and concluded that she was losing her mind. She didn't fight the psychiatrists, and told them what she saw. They tried so many things, but nothing worked. Her aunt and uncle gave up and sent her to Bishop's, hoping they wouldn't have to deal with her anymore.

But when she arrived, everything seemed to become worse. She stayed in her room a lot, afraid of the other patients. She'd seen a werewolf, a fae, and other things she didn't understand. Her shyness didn't help either. She avoided the others as often as she could.

What she didnt know because her parents never had the chance to tell her, was that she was a hunter, specifically a hermit. She doesn't understand anything about her powers yet and isnt sure she wants to.

Briana presently resides within Bishops Gate Asylum by her parents will. Thinking her mentally unbalanced, they decided that it was best for their darling child to be institutionalized.

Briana knows better, that her parents are the mad ones.

She placed in Bishops gate because of a “Delusion” that her mad inventions could work if she was simple able to harness the power of the Ether, a mythic force of energy as yet unknown to modern science.

The reality is that she is correct, her inventions would indeed work, if it were not for agents of the Technocracy and a Quintessence lock that they have placed upon her in Subspace.

If this lock were to ever be undone or broken, she would be unleashed upon a helplessly prosaic world.

Briana is, by all rights, a mechanical genius. She is also a bit obsessed with neatness.
One of the few inmates who keeps her 'Room' neat and tidy, save for the technical scrawlings she has on her walls, full of Formula and schematics.

Briana was scheduled for Electro shock therapy, and she seemed in favor of this. But she wanted to make a few adjustments to the machine.
Her goal was increase her own intelligence, so it may be safe to say that Briana might actually be a bit insane after all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Rosemary Goodfellow
Player: MissMilenka
Kith: Satyr (Changeling)
Age: 18
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 120 lbs.

A vision of Gaelic beauty, Rose is pale-skinned with emerald eyes and a thick mane of tight red curls that falls just past her shoulder blades (as wild and free as the woman who wears them).

Rosemary Goodfellow was abandoned at birth and raised in a New York orphanage, and later traded between a number of foster homes during her teens. She was an undisciplined girl with a deep disdain for authority that frequently got her into trouble with the law. After dropping out of High School in her senior year she decided to make her living through her considerable passions and began dancing at one of Manhattan's premier Gentleman's Clubs. She quickly became a heavy draw... one might even say the audience was hypnotized and transfixed by her dance.

This attention earned her many opportunities to earn a little extra money as an escort (although she honestly couldn't care less about the money), and week after week her price continued to rise. She became the favored 'date' to a local senator, and one night her 'fairy tale' life came crashing down. The senator offered her some new drug that was all the rage overseas... something that would open her eyes to the dream around her.

Never one to pass down a new thrill, Rose enjoyed her share of the drug... and everything went dark. She awoke the next morning to find the senator slaughtered, their hotel suite covered in blood. She was arrested for his murder and found to be insane... crazy ramblings about seeing the 'truth' no one else could see.

Since then she's been locked away at Bishops Gate. She still sees disturbing half-truths in the world around her (most troubling of which is her own horned reflection in the mirror). Rose has had few good nights sleep since her imprisonment, but even on those nights she doesn't dream. Hasn't dreamed since that drug 'awoke' her... woke her from her slumber with such terror that she may never dream again.

Arts:

Chicanery - Chicanery is the deceptive magical power of illusion and emotional manipulation. Those who practice it extensively are often considered somewhat untrustworthy by nobles, and few nobles will admit to using it. (1 Fuddle. This cantrip allows a changeling to confuse a target's perceptions, making them perhaps mistake one person for another, or night for day.)

Primal - Primal allows a changeling to manipulate the forces of nature, from summoning the elements to communing with inanimate objects. It also gives power over the body, allowing a fae to harden his skin like tree bark, heal injuries, rip flesh apart and even shapeshift. (1 Willow Whisper. This enables the caster to speak to and ask questions of anything they have the Realm for. The object spoken to may have very different thought patterns from human, and the answers may be vague.)

Realms: Realms in Changeling magic apply directly to who or what you can effect. Without knowing the proper realms a Changeling is unable to effect anything. Realms are a necessary part of casting a Cantrip.

Actor - Actor is the realm connected to all worldly beings, with a direct correlation to how well you know them. The less aquainted you are with a particular being, be it a werewolf, mortal, wraith, vampire, etc. (1 True Friend: The target must be a well known confidant, a buddy.)

Nature - Nature is the control of plants, land, and beasts. Anything untouched by creation lends itself to be controlled by the Nature realm. (1 Raw Material: Target must be Unliving, organic materials: wood, rope, paper, etc.)

Prop - Prop is the control and manipulation of all created objects. Clothing, weapons, buildings, and anything else "created" falls under prop. The more complicated the device the more mastery of the Prop realm is required. (1 Ornate Garb: Th target must be Objects commonly worn, including tattoos.)

I call werewolf. So give me a moment and tell me what information you desire. I like the name Carlita and i'll post a bio or whatever you need.

She's yours La Reina. If you are familiar with the werewolves of the World of Darkness, then feel free to build her however you wish. The more you make her character yours, the better.

If you are unfamiliar with WoD werewolves, then, in short, they were created by Gaia, mother earth, to be her warriors against the taint of corruption wrought by The Wyrm (It would be easiest to think of The Wyrm as the Dark Side of the force given conciousness.)

I do not know WoD, but I get the gist of what you're saying. I will have something up about Carlita in a short while. I'm so excited. *shakes my shaggy butt* <--- get it

Hi! I'm interested in either Eloise or Karen (probably Eloise with a few edits)... what kind of posting rate are you wanting for this? My free time during weekdays can be a little hit-or-miss, but weekends are usually good.

Just let me know! Thanks!
~M

Hey, I'd be interested in Jessica, I'm unfamiliar with World of Darkness but have read up on it a bit to see if it was something I'd be interested in. If I were Jessica would I be one of the Changelings or one of the Fae themselves? Just so I know where to look for info/inspiration :D

*pokes my head in*

I KNOW (and love) the World of Darkness (and have played in every sort of variation you can possibly imagine....)

That being said if you can't find some one to write Margaret? Let me know. I'd be interested in writing her, for sure.

MissMilenka, what sort of edits would you like to make to Eloise? I would be perfectly happy with weekly post rates, we certainly don't have to rush things after all, as long as when we do post, myself included, we post quality, myself included. (Please do keep me in line if you find my post happen to suffer as well!)

Darkened Star, thank you so much for your interest! From my understanding, in the WoD Changelings are Fae souls in human bodies. (So, they work much in the same way as Demon: The Fallen characters.) Here is what I've read about them so far:

The fae are creatures of dreams, drawing magical power and their very existence from "glamour", the dreams of mankind. Glamour created and maintains a separate realm of imagination known as the Dreaming, from which the fae originally came to the mortal world. During the Iron Age and the subsequent rise of rational thought and science, glamour became less common in the real world, and the opposing force of banality could injure or kill the fae. In response, the fae nobility (the sidhe, pronounced SHE) withdrew to Arcadia, their home deep in the Dreaming, and the commoner fae developed "the Changeling Way Ritual", and became changelings. Eventually banality became so strong that the Dreaming was cut off from reality. This time period is known as the Shattering and it is associated with the time of the Black Plague. It was at this time that the Changeling Way ritual was created allowing fae souls to inhabit human bodies. For many years commoner changelings lived amongst mortals and made their way as best they could in a world where glamour was fading, this was the Interregnum. Then came the Resurgence, man landed on the moon and belief and dreams broke open the doors to Arcadia. Some sidhe were able to return by inhabiting existing human bodies.

In traditional lore, a changeling is a fairy child substituted for a human baby, but, in truth, a changeling is a fae soul born into a human body. Early in the human's life, usually before puberty, she undergoes the "Chrysalis", a magical awakening of the fae soul which previously lay dormant. Once through the Chrysalis, the Changeling exists simultaneously in both the real world and in the "chimerical" reality of the fae, where creative ideas and imagination have substance. The human soul becomes joined with the fae soul."

You'll find all the above information and more about specific 'races' of fae by following the changeling setting link from the world of darkness page. If you can't find it, let me know and I will be happy to copy and past here.

LUNA!!! Yes, please! Come in! Margaret's yours.

Melinka, Darkened Star, as soon as I hear back from the two of you, I will put your claims on your respective characters.

What I ultimately had in mind is for Jerome to eventually empower the lot of you to fight your way free of Bishops Gate, in the hopes that you would be willing to be his "Angels" LOL, Like a fucked up, dark world Charlies Angels! But that could one day be another thread of its own.

This one will be about the struggles to be free of the madness and horrors of the Gate.

Alright Virgininneed, welcome! I'll put your claim on her. Is there any details you would like on her? Do you like her discription as is, or would you like to change anything?

Alright! We may be able to start this thing in a day or two, just want to be sure the last to ladies are on board and happy with their characters...

Maybe that she only recently has discovered her powers and sint sure if its real or shes jist crazy

You could have waited till my book had arrived Raven then I could have joined the cast *pouts glaring at you in mock disapproval,* :rose:

My idea for Eloise is she would be a young Mage whose power is drawn from the emotions of people around her. Fear, joy, lust, happiness -- they all send ripples of psychic energy that usually just dissipate away and is wasted, but her body draws it all in like a battery for spellcraft. Obviously the most intoxicating of sources for this energy would be from sexual climaxes, a sudden and tremendous release of emotional energy all at once! Thus she took to her activities in a sexual cult to feed her needs (maybe "feed" is a poor word -- I see this more like a drug addiction than vampirism... she won't die without drawing power from emotions, but will go through severe withdraws).

It's been a very long time since I read up on mages in WoD, but I can do some research when I get home (typing on my phone at work now ~LoL~). I'm thinking this unusual quirk or talent would be the result of a curse, most likely the fault of her father's. And perhaps part of that curse is she is unable to have emotions of her own (or they're heavily muted) but she tries to fake her way through normal society.

I'll read up some more on WoD tonight and see if I can make this fit in the setting. But that's kinda the direction I'm thinking of for Eloise.

Ahh, okay. I obviously misunderstood the whole 'Cult' thing -- thank you for clarifying! They do sound interesting, but I've had my brain working on the concept I posted above for a while and would like to play it out if possible.

Could a character like that exist in this setting? I was thinking of her as an 'Orphan'... self-taught and running on talent and instinct, but with the unusual quirk of drawing power from the emotions of others. Is that an option here?

Thanks!

I would be happy to make room for you to join as well!

We could always work out a character for you to play.

Wraith isn't being represented yet... How about a former inmate who still haunts the walls of Bishops Gate?

Karen would be able to see and hear you all the time.

Carlita would be able to whenever she looked into the umbra.

I'm also fairly certain that once they were made aware of the wraith's presence, Jerome and Jessica would be able to see you as well, considering their already 'dual world' existance.

That would only really leave Margaret who would have trouble interacting with a wraith. Perhaps a fetish could be made for her eventually to see into the spirit world.

That's not an entirely unreasonable concept. The taking from others is a little against what an Ecstatic stands for though...

Perhaps this could be a reasonable explination. Because her father works for Pentex, the wine they produce gets wyrm tainted, so that anyone who drinks a sizeable quantity of it would become 'emotion sponges' like you mention. Only, Eloise was born a mage, so cannot be fully corrupted by the wyrm taint, but was affected by it. Through her magic she could have found out what her father is into and tried to stand against him. Only, he set her up to appear insane and was able to get her locked away, safely in some institution somewhere, where he wouldn't ever have to worry about her meddling in his affairs again... That would give Eloise this emotion sponge curse and still allow you to play her as an ecstatic cultist.

What do you think?
