I have a PhD in genetics. So let's talk about viruses since that is what I worked with shall we?

We know where Covid originated. A cave full of bats. Know how we know this without a doubt? Because over 25 years ago, we collected shitloads of viral samples from the cave. Unfortunately, funding was terminated...so the samples sat in a minus 200 freezer. Along came Covid...and money to study it. So the samples were genotyped...guess what was found. Covid. Base after base identical to what was circulating in the human population. Yes...there were minor differences...as expected because 25 years of mutations had occurred since the sample was collected (frozen viruses do not replicate...so no mutation). But 100% the virus we are dealing with. This information is freely available and peer reviewed published.

Now...why was the virus not from a lab? Because we don't raise viruses in labs. We store them. When we work with a virus, we remove the RNA of interest by a process using restriction enzymes. Then we insert that RNA of interest into a strain of bacteriophage using ligation enzymes. We do this so mutation is mitigated...not much sense working on a virus for years to have it mutate into something else without us knowing it mutated. Now here is the fun part. You can't do either of these steps without leaving fragments of the restriction, ligation and bacteriophage RNA. 100% impossible. Can't be done. So...if the virus was worked on in a lab...anywhere...you can do BLAST searches of the genotyped virus for the restriction and ligation fragments. Easy peasy. Guess what? In the hundreds of thousands of RNA sequences genotyped...all freely available...not one single example of a restriction or ligation fragment exists. So....this mean...it wasn't manipulated...or...the Chinese Government researchers are so fucking far ahead of what we can do it would be scary. And if that was true...wouldn't you think they would have created a virus whose mortality is better than 1.5% and largely only affects those that are old or that have underlying issues?
