Your Pen-name

Brutal_one. I used this at certain times in online chat rooms. In particular with BDSM chat rooms were for curious females imagined that BDSM was at times about rough sex or believed they have such fantasies, in particular the non consent type.

I could play someone that was brutal but more often than not the true submissive Dom, sub and permission aspect of BDSM was much more attractive. There is the SM element of BDSM and that also attracts. Brutal One has acted as a good nick so in exploring the many years I have been writing but really a lot totally not at all in BDSM territory because I felt it was the better category along with non con it seemed a suitable nick to write under.

The sig line is valid and I like to think for female readers in particular I can maybe make them think beyond what they think their real or imagined kinks are.

Lovecraft was an incredibly original and powerful author. I think H.G. Geiger had inspiration from him on the Necronimicon and the artwork for Aliens.

Call of Cthulhu (role-playing game) Which I owned at one point and played was based on HP Lovecraft’s work. Have you heard of it or played it? Along with Edgar Allen Poe for the outright creepy and disturbing horror they were unmatched.

Back when I had the Comic shop I got into Call of Cthulhu when a customer asked if he could host the game there after hours on Saturday night(for a fee) I played a lot of D&D when I was younger so decided to learn the game and play, hence I didn't charge them, but they would spend a few bucks while they were there.

I got a kick out of the fact in true HPL style all the adventures ended badly.

Yes, Giger had strong HPL influence for Alien.

HPL himself was inspired by Arthur Machen and Lord Dunsany...but their writing is difficult to read due to the time period. Robert Chambers The King In Yellow gave him some inspiration for his Cthulhu mythos as well

And now I'll stop before I have to slap myself for being such a nerd.

My screen name matches the email I tethered to this site. I wish now I had put some actual thought and creativity into it.

Mine is far more cryptic than it seems. My real name is strange enough I could use it as a user name and everyone would assume it is made up. But as a woman with a name only about 10 other people have on FB (globally) I wasnt going to risk it. So I used a slightly tenuous link and got my writers name.

I'm envious...my name is one that only ten people...in any given public place at any time have:eek:

Although my IRL name is not that common, when I started school, many, many years ago, there was already a boy in the class with exactly the same name. The teacher decided that that would be confusing so, henceforth, I would have to be Sam. The second half was bestowed upon me at a party when I was in my 20s. A woman who was chatting me up asked what I did for a living. I told her that I was a writer. 'Hmm,' she said. 'In that case I shall call you Mr Scribble.' And, until she died, 30-something years later, she did.

By accident and because I’m lazy.

I’m a fan of the mythology of King Arthur and in particular Merlin, his court magician, to whom the Welsh gave the name Emrys. There are several regions in Great Britain that claim the heritage of King Arthur.

I’ve used the name Emirus on other sites for nearly ten years so decided to stick with it when registering here. Originally I misspelt it which is why it’s not Emrys. The other reason is I like short names because I’m lazy and a short name is easier when signing in.

Have you read “The Mysts of Avalon” by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I am not saying I have read a lot of Arthurian legends but came across this years ago by chance and enjoyed the reading of it from memory.

It's a curse and in my stories my characters always have lovely common easy names as a cathartic way to makeup for growing up standing out before I've even said Hi

My IRL first name is common as dirt and last name is relatively unique. Strange combination.

"Wombat" is my long-time (I mean, decades) nickname despite the fact that I'm not a native Australian. Guess it was fate I'd end up here. Came from my youth when I'd enthusiastically tell people about the most recent adventures from "The Curse of the Flying Wombat."

"Penname" was prepended to it as a play on words for my "pen name" here.

Mine's an anagram of a dirty phrase.

You're breaking my brain. In what language?

I've wondered about your user name every time I've seen it!

Throckmorton P Ruddygore from "The River of the Dancing Gods" by Jack Chalker. Now there was a wizard that had style.

I'm boring. I really like The Phantom of the Opera. I used to bowl a lot. Boom.

It’s Calzone el But isn’t it? Yeah? Right?! Nailed it!!

I always thought your pen name sounded elegant, but now I can’t get Italian food that tastes like butt out of my head. You’re cruel Belle. So cruel.

It was either that or Lean Cut Lezbo but that’s just silly.

And now I’m hungry, but I don’t think I want a calzone.
:-D

:-D

That's me! Grimy, and licentitious in a veneer of elegance.

Chloe is my actual name because if I used anything else I’d forget and use Chloe anyhow, and Tzang is my mom’s family name but spelt in one of the many different variations that you can spell it in, in english.

I had a list of several less-cryptic names to use, most of them pertaining to my favourite characteristics of women's bodies and/or clothing, but they were all taken (although I've never since seen any of the users who took them actually participating here...grrr). As I had a story at the ready and was eager to post it before I lost my nerve, I went with an anagram of an older screen name I'd used elsewhere.

I've always thought yours was a number plate.

Mine's a variant of an account name from a totally unrelated place. The 66 doesn't refer to age or dob, but necessary because plain EB no number was already taken. That person doesn't write here, which is mildly annoying.

My real name is impossible to spell or pronounce. Since I was little, I wanted to be Raven Miller because it was simple and evoked the color of my hair. Then I figured out it sounded like a stripper's name. So I decided not to change it. My other pen name is similar--easy to pronounce, sounds like a stripper. So I'm living the dream: people can pronounce my pen name AND mistake me for a stripper.

Rusty oz nail

I use Rusty on a lot of forums for old cars, railways, etc
Oz - well, I'm in Australia. I learnt that people will ask why I don't spell everything with a Zee, so that shuts that down...

Nail - just seemed to fit. Could have been Rusty Screw, but's a bit weird. :D

Hi there,

My penname's start is due to my obvious liking of stories containing magic, especially transformations, the second part is my 20 yo internet nickname. It came to me after a former gf came home after a course of German linguistics where they had to construct German sounding words that didn't exist 😃

I picked "NotWise" as a user name. It was easy to remember. I didn't realize until later that it would also become my penname. I thought it was not wise for me to open an account -- much less publish stories -- given my family, professional, and community position.

I was going to make a Drumpf joke, but we all know he'd use his real name and be damned!

Jezabel was one of my first IM names either ICQ or Messenger or something! I used it to mainly chat to guys as my marriage was falling apart. A group of people I trained with have always called each other Sister, including our Mister Sister so I just combined the two!

Edited to add- in court my ex referred to me as the Whore of Babylon even though he didn't know I used Jez as a nickname online and I was always faithful in my marriage! The (female) judge could see through him and I got all I wanted and more!
