Attendees at a "furries" convention in Northern California rushed to help a woman they saw getting beaten by a man outside their conference venue, authorities said.

San Jose police officers responded to a disturbance in the city's downtown at 11:57 p.m. on Friday to find six people who "were trying to restrain a male who was assaulting a female," according to a police statement.

Demetri Hardnett, a 22-year-old San Jose resident, was booked on suspicion of felony domestic violence, officials said.

Former Minneapolis police officer Thomas Lane was sentenced in federal court Thursday to 30 months — 2 1/2 years — in prison for violating George Floyd's civil rights.

Can almost hear him now at the press conference…A fine upstanding officer, no one got hurt and he was just discharging his weapon indoors, who doesn’t get angry when the Dolphins lose? (Chuckle) What… people going to regulate what people do in their homes now?

The answer Ron is yes if you are firing a weapon indoors. That is pretty dangerous. And when SWAT arrives and you still won’t obey rules, that doesn’t fit with law and order.
