I don't know I'd this is the same recipe that Neci uses, but I make this a lot, and we love it. Feel free to sub veggies to your taste. I often use parsnips and Brussels sprouts or winter squash.

i used that recipe, minus the soy, plus-
red wine 1/2 cup
quartered purple sweet potatoes
one whole bulb garlic
herb de provence

it took about 1.5 hrs in the oven at 400.

Thank you both!
Some combination of this should make it to my plate within a week.
Also in the works, pozole, kefteh, chicken soup for a sickie, and now tacos thanks to Irezumi  Must have!

I made this a few days ago. I used potatoes, carrots, celery and onions and a few whole cloves of garlic for the veg. For the sauce, I didn't have red wine and I didn't want to use all soy sauce, so I used half soy and added fresh orange juice. It was good, but could have been punchier. Next time I will add all of the soy, or maybe ponzu, and... Probably a few more ingredients :) I'm definitely making it again, and it will evolve. Thanks!

This is Your Food thread, where you can talk about your food. Tell us about the kind of food you eat in your part of the world and/or what you eat on a daily basis.
I made spaghetti tonight, but just for me. I always think of "Lady and the Tramp" even though I haven't seen it in years. Tony: "Bones"

I have a good friend coming to stay for 3 days, and he is on a strict paleo diet with extra restrictions - no tomato, eggplant or zuchinni, because he doesn't like them.
Finding recipes is a bloody nightmare!

People like that need to bring their own food.

The "paelo diet" makes me

Those paelo peoples ate anything they could find.

And I doubt they found many tomatoes, eggplants or zucchinis.

The "best" diet: don't eat crap.

No doubt.

I remember a guest of yours eating only chicken and rice, do you encourage weirdo diets? Unless someone has a health restriction, polite society should never ask someone else to make such cooking restrictions. He should be a good guest and just man up and eat whatever you're serving.

With that being said, make lots of salads. Roasted chicken. Omelettes for breakfast. Just because he won't eat something doesn't mean you can't make it.

Sounds more like a pain in the ass, than a good friend. With the exception of food allergies, or if you are charging him for the food he consumes, a 'good' friend or guest would be appreciative of your culinary efforts during his stay, and should even offer to prepare a paleo meal or two himself.

Know what may be easier than finding recipes? Finding alternative accommodations for Mr. High Maintenance.

He is a good friend, but has some major health issues which restrict what he can eat. After much searching it turns out paleo is the one eating style he can tolerate.
He's coming to stay here so he can go to the V8 races without breaking the bank. He will be putting in $ for food.
I eat an almost paleo diet, but I am finding it hard to swap some of the ingredients - I still eat legumes (out for him), nightshades (also out), soy sauce etc (out), and rice (out).
I found a few recipes last night. Hopefully they turn out ok as it'll be my first time making them!
Thinking I can substitute quinoa for rice, balsamic for tomato, that sort of thing....

Making bread today from the juice left in the pickle jar.
It's called, and this is not an April Fool's joke, Dill Dough.
