I wanted to do a variation of the beef and bacon burger someone made but use chicken instead. I mixed the chicken with some bacon I ground up with my old cast iron hand crank grinder.

I mixed Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, an egg, bread crumbs and cayenne. I made slider sized and topped with mozzarella.

Yum.

I'm a bit desperate where I have been lately. It has a counter a sink, a fridge and a microwave. It has a cache of cans from the turn of the century.

I had to try something, anything, so I put peanut butter on club crackers, topped with shavings of aged asiago cheese and sprinkled with Old Bay Seasoning. My tastebuds appreciated the effort but rated it a B-

I see cans of mushrooms. And there is a bottle of olive oil that is surprisingly not turned. I brought a couple of onions with me, so I'm going to try sauteing some in olive oil in the microwave then adding 'shrooms and cheese and melting all that together next.

Last night I roasted some chicken apple sausages with peppers, brussels sprouts, onions, green beans and butternut squash. Tonight I'm making a "hash" from the leftovers and puttin' an egg on it. Maybe some toast.

And a Bloody Mary or three.

I don't understand why you are bothering to eat, when you are obviously in Burundi? Just let nature take its course :p

And to Lorilei, nom nom nom! I love love love  hash of the day with a fried egg! If you like beets you should try a beet, potato and carrot hash. Golden beets and purple carrots if you can get them :)

Noooooo! I don't do beets. They are gigantic blood clots. :(

Well, sorry I will use the B word, but in relation to beetroot.

Cannot buy it here on the shelves, nor even fresh in the markets. So I order it online - with the help of a Chinese student, cos Taobao is in Chinese. I get a dozen cans at a time; they arrive next day. Beetroot is very very good for you!

The Massaman has been simmering for two hours now. The house smells of curry, coconut and garlic.
