(Someone on the GB is displaying pique at the mention of moist. Dry cake ? Dry cake is sandpaper! I am indulging in moist, sugar based fantasy.)

Actually I did get a lot of that super moist cake, because I made it! Okay, after about three days I sent a huge slab to the neighbor...because nice.

I finally made an interpretation of the stuffed cabbage that rjthoughts wrote of. I know he says not barley but rice, but it loved the sound of barley. In the end I found my spelt before my barley, so used that, and it was delicious: I have decided now I prefer grain to rice! And the delicious tart apple sauce and deep rye ( Gianbattista made a sour dough rye loaf at the weekend to go with this meal) . Its just so good! There are lots of cabbage rolls left over!

In truth, its not terribly great at binding, compared to the other alternatives, but it does lighten the mix and have good flavour. My cabbage rolled well and my stuffing in side was loose, but I didn't mind that
