yay!

Thank you, thør !

I now have hope, that I may have a chance.

A crab feast unleashes my inner otter. *nom nom nom* All sharp teeth and concentration on flavor pleasure!

A salmon feast might unleash my inner bear ? *gorge, feast, wolf*

There are quite a few whiners in the comment section. Next thing, people will demand vegan meat=bombs.

"The only tube meat I eat is salami"

Had to bite my tongue.

Johnny: that second link doesn't work.

This was so so good. I'm glad I didn't scrimp on the chilis, they gave it just a slight spice but a really good earthy taste. It called for lime marmalade, found in the British aisle, wherever that is because I've never seen one, but who has time to shop for that bidness? Not me. I used lime zest, juice and some brown sugar to substitute.

I mashed the onions to sneak them by the kid, so the gravy was smooth and thick. On top of rice. I could have licked the sauce pan. There was a few steps to the recipe, kinda hard...like your dad.

So worth it.

Spicy short ribs with lime and basil

They sound wonderful. I just might have to try this recipe.

No pics to share but I started my food day with 2 each of three different varieties of oysters and a glass of wine when I got home from work at 5 am. I am now considering having friends over for a day of progressive eating. Any ideas for some yellowfin steaks, a lot of halibut chunks, a couple of pounds of farmed salmon trim, and a bunch of kohlrabi? My job gives me a lot of access to ingredients. My friends make it fun fooling with those ingredients

Quick pickled kohlrabi with fish kabobs?

Meal Prep for the Week

...is what's going on here (in part) today...

Raspberry martinis (inspiration!), meat sauce and two kinds of egg cups (for breakfasts) pictured.

Also in the works; pulled apple ginger chicken, no bake s'mores bars (using up the homemade rum marshmallows...I don't like to waste), grilled potatoes, pasta salad (for a graduation party this afternoon with peppers, black olives, pepperoni and parmesan cheese) and the last of the chocolate chip cookie dough baked.

Productive day!!

You will have something if the power goes out.
I feel as if I am wearing a wet, warm wool blanket.

Cooking inside would be a beast.
Cooking outside ?

Under a tarp, perhaps.

Friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.

Nor should they eat wild caught especially king. Salmon is a no win food item as consumption of either has serious implications. Weird thing is people seem much more stressed by fish farming then they do about poultry farming or beef farming or the domestication and mass production of other proteins. Have you read Four Fish by chance?

I've been eating loads of fish these past months. When I went to York I had John Dory, which I'd never had before. Bloody gorgeous.

How was the John Dory prepared? I have access to it occasionally but it is so thin that it seems like it would cook in like two seconds.

It really to hot to be cooking, but we got it done early.
