The farm changed the name of their pumpkins. The past five years, Sugar Pumpkins for sale. Not this year. Another store had Pie Pumpkins. Same farm.
Pie Pumpkins seem to be Frankenpumpkins. Crossed with spaghetti squash. Baked, bottom half became yummy pie filling. Top half was spaghetti squash threads.

kabocha squash from Japan are much better than pumpkin.

I usually get Red Kuri Squash rather than pumpkins for Halloween. They are more orange than pumpkins.

Growing up, there were only three flavors of paczki:
Lemon curd, (Bavarian) cream, and raspberry.
This afternoon, a local supermarket - operating next to a Polish cemetery - had new flavors:
Cookies and cream; chocolate; mint chocolate; strawberry; and strawberry whipped topping.

Babci would make some apple pie filling ones for my youngest cousin: she was the favorite. I think that would go well.
Growing up my dad was all about BBQ. Even when I got my first place that actually had a patio he bought me a BBQ. If the weather is nice I'll cook out there most of the time and if not casseroles are awesome for having left overs and basically being able to mix anything. I have bought some cook books though to try and expand my culinary knowledge.

Living on bacon, ribeye cooked in bacon, and broccoli/asparagus in bacon......some of the best living I've ever done.
