I agree, you could have, and if you'd have laughed about it back at the start, this thread would have been gone by page 2. No big deal.
But you continually argued, and at first I thought it was amusing, then insulting, then amusing again, and then basically I couldn't decide if I wanted to point out to you that all the people you've been arguing with were all 18, and every single one of us would agree that we were at the bottom of steep learning curve back then, (that's a polite way of saying we had a lot to learn) or if I just wanted to see how far you would go with it (morbid curiosity thing)


If they have, it's because they've been spurred on by your reactions, myself included, or because they felt insulted.
As I said at the start of this thread, you basically said, "I don't want most of you coming here, because you're past it."

I take that on board. Maybe I shouldn't have posted as often as I did, but I feel the world's not as simple as 'if it bothers you then don't look'.
People need to learn to argue, and likewise, the wrong need the error of their ways pointed out.

Nah FM09 is much better. I'm currently managing FC Groningen. I managed for 4 years in France before. I love this game. I sometimes confuse FM and real life.

I'm gonna suggest that you should have a look at this thread in a couple of days time, and consider it from the POV of anyone over the age of 24, and be really objective about it.
Think about it as a learning opportunity, and I guarantee you'll be surprised at how much you pick up.

No chance. It's me. It's my sense of humour. If people don't like me so be it - a fact of life is that not everyone will like you. I have no regrets.

If I was over 24, I'd look at this and probably smile a little. That's it. I'm not being arrogant or trying to not admit to my so called "mistakes/fuck ups". I just don't perceive it as one.

Before you started, you should have searched. If you had, you'd have found there is already a thread (for the under 30s, I think) like this, and started in a more friendly and less offensive way.

You may not have MEANT to cause offense, but the simple fact is, you did. Not to me... I find it kinda funny..... but I know I'm old. It's not much fun tbh.... knowing I'm nearer my death than my birth..... but I survive. But to those aged over 25, to be told (even jokingly) that you are past it.... it's just not nice, no matter how it's couched..... just as (if my memory can remember back to the 70s and 80s) I got annoyed when I was condescended to by 'old farts'.

You played your role in the first post, and I suspect Molly and ERF thought they may as well play theirs. I could be wrong, but that's how it reads to me. It started off as banter and fun, but some of your replies stopped it being that.

What I have learned in hindsight, is that sometimes (when the Alzheimer's fades), the old farts occasionally talked sense. Many times through experience. I never listened, and now it happens to me, and I'm ignored. Young people think old people were born that old. I did. It's the circle of life to quote Sir Reginald Dwight.

Believe me... you'll remember this post in 25 years time and think "That DirtyBear geezer... her wasn't such a twat.... he may have actually talked sense".
